I really want a soft bra in cotton for in the house and I cant find one I like but have come across these in the link above but
According to the way I read it the size guide for this bra means I should get a 40c but that sound ridiculous! im sure I must be misunderstanding it

Obviously boob or bust isn't how this site wants it done but even by their rules it makes me a hugely different size than my normal

Measured in a bra my back was 35-36 and my boobs were 42 and a tiny bit

According to their size guide that makes me a 40c how can a 36 back translate to a 40 bra? I'm so confused!

Can someone check the size guide for me or measure themselves and see if their size is in that bra

Have I done it right or am I missing something obvious?

I don't want to order them if I case I have misunderstood it and then they are huge.

Please excuse the grammar Blush

I would go with the boob or bust sizing. They are doing the add 4 inches thing which is pretty outdated now, and doesn’t make sense unless the fabric is non-stretch.

TheMarzipanDildo · 21/09/2020 17:11

And sister sizing means it should still fit (better!) even if it’s not the size the company would put you in.

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 09:28

How do I know what sister size to get?

Sorry act like you are teaching a toddler to use a spoon.

Those are European dress sizes, not bra sizes in inches.
I think 36 = 10, 38 =12, 40=14 etc.

Ah ok so I did misunderstand something then!

Thankyou everyone for replying.

Infact if anyone can be bothered is there a similar alternative any of you know about
I want cotton as it doesn't agrivate my skin and a similar price if possible.

I bought these, they’re really comfy - a good compromise between no bra and a normal underwired one. But now I know why they came up quite big! I bought a 40DD as they didn’t have any bigger cups available

FWIW I’m a 36F with Boob or bust, so I went up a couple of back sizes and down a couple of cups, but as they’re so soft and there’s a bit of adjustment on the back, it’s not an exact science, so a size either way probably wouldn’t make too much difference.

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 13:21

@MarkRuffaloCrumble thankyou! That's why I'm looking at them I'd like something for the house or if I need to pop next door to drop off her shopping etc but I want a break from having an underwire bra on constantly

I'm a similar size bra to you. Although I need to properly do the measurements again.

Last time I properly did boob or bust I was a 34ff but weight has creeped up so my back is a bit bigger

So how did the 40dd fit then?
You said it came up big was that on the back or the cup or both?
Now you have them what size do you think you should have got instead?

I need to go out to an appointment now but il be back later or tomorrow.

Thankyou for the help everyone.

I have some from Sainsbury that are great. Something like this

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 22/09/2020 15:09

Tbh it fits fine and is comfy which is the main thing, it’s just a bit looser around the band than I’ve got used to, but that’s probably why it’s a more relaxed fit! I can PM you a pic to show how it fits if you like - won’t post one here so as not to scare the children Grin

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 20:43

Yes please @MarkRuffaloCrumble if you don't mind, that very kind of you.
Iv had about 5 or 6 different ones over the last couple of years and I'm just sick of wasting money!

Thanks @homemadecommunistrussia I'll go and have a proper look at them now, they look like a good possibility though.

Lol scare the children Grin

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 22/09/2020 21:04

Ah looks like I can’t send pics by PM. If you want to send me your email or WhatsApp I’ll do it that way. DP will wonder wtf I’m up to Grin

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 21:30

Haha @MarkRuffaloCrumble thanks you are being exceptionally lovely but I won't put you through that it quite a big ask really isn't it! Although it would be hilarious if I suddenly started getting messages from your Dp trying to find out who I am and why exactly his/her partner is sending inappropriate pictures to me Grin

You have given me enough information that I should be able to work it out now to at least get it close anyway. Thanks very much for taking the time to help.

They looked like they might have been great but almost all the sizes are sold out.

Thankyou for posting them as I know Sainsbury's are a place to look out for now so thanks again.

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 22/09/2020 21:33

Ha ha no probs! I did think that might be crossing a line Grin

On the plus side, it made me tighten up the straps and it fits me a lot better now!

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 21:52

No honestly I really appreciate it and like there is another woman who thinks like me out there because I'd definitely be likely to offer the same thing if it helped someone, haha! but it does put you in an odd or potentially vulnerable position really as while I am definitely who I say I am and would absolutely be only looking for research and then deleting it's probably better for you if you know for definite there isn't an image floating about the internet.

You have been great mark, I really appreciate it

I'm glad you have it hoisted up now too. Nothing worse than realising you might as well have not bothered putting it on because it's so loose.

Il let you know how I get on with them I just need to measure boob and bust to decide which cup I'll need first.

And thankyou to everyone else too.

homemadecommunistrussia · 22/09/2020 21:59

Sizes are nearly always sold out at sainsbury online, I find that you have to go to the shop and take your chances.

Ginkypig · 22/09/2020 22:24

Thanks @homemadecommunistrussia I'll remember that and pop in when I pass them from now on!
