What do you have your eye 2020 holiday / Christmas collections?

Along with advent calendars, the Christmas releases and GWPs are now becoming available...

What do you all have your eye on?

I love the Hourglass palettes. The 2018 one was lovely and I got the blush palette last year but the colours were not as good for me. This year's looks like it might be similar to the 2018 one.

I also tend to get excited about Too Faced, Nars and Laura Mercier. I always have a look at MAC...

I often buy an Elizabeth Arden set as I love the eight hour cream lip balm and the sets often have the face mist and hand cream, which I also enjoy.

I feel like it's hard to buy make up this year as I'm doing more shopping online and without testers.

I've got to ask what a GWP is, keep seeing it on here but can't work it out for the life of me!

MollyVolley · 21/09/2020 08:17

Gift with purchase I only found out here Grin

BunnyLovesBananas · 21/09/2020 08:25

Yes a gift with purchase

I haven't done all my research yet. I quite enjoy the YouTube videos about the holiday collections and I haven't seen any of those yet...

I follow the advent calendar thread as I've got the M&S one the past couple of years but don't really fancy any this time and I think I'd rather spend money on a few items that I really want

I can't build up any enthusiasm this year. It feels like anything requiring make up will be cancelled :-(

BunnyLovesBananas · 21/09/2020 10:11

Yes I get that feeling MoltonSilver There is no work Christmas do this year, as expected!

It reminds me of seeing all the halloween sweets in Home Bargains yesterday and I just thought "will people even be doing that?!"

I often buy sweets to take to work but that won't be happening either!

I still get a bit excited about new make up and skincare though and maybe the focus will move to skincare this year...

My eye is on the Revolution, Profusion and NYX stuff. The Harry Potter make up that Boots are doing this year isn't as fun as last year, but there are a few things I like, so I'll wait till after Christmas. Grin

LoveEatYoga · 29/09/2020 18:41

I have tried any Profusion stuff but it looks similar to Revolution. I haven't tried much Revolution either except a couple of copy cat eye palettes.

Harvey Nicholls GWP is out but I'm still using stuff from one I got two years ago as this stuff seems to end up in a box at my house

I usually get my 2 dds (18 and 20) the Benefit Festive gift sets. They are good value and always go down well with my girls. They change the packaging every Christmas but they contain full size Benefit cosmetics.

LoveEatYoga · 29/09/2020 21:14

I love Benefit and enjoyed the set DH got me last year but I do find them a bit samey

DH got me a similar one to that last year. I think it had the bad gal mascara, hoola, porefessional and something else

AnSionnachGlic · 29/09/2020 21:17

I agree they contain same products yearly LoveEatYoga, but as my girls are in college ( poor students!) they appreciate getting a good mascara, bronzer etc.

LoveEatYoga · 29/09/2020 21:36

I think they make a good gift but I just can't get excited about them tbh
