Can anyone help me find the right bra for this dress?

I hope you can see the pictures!

I'm a bit massively pregnant, and getting married in 3 weeks (COVID didn't allow for a sensible date to do it!). This is the dress I'm going to wear (no point wearing white Grin ) but my current bras look awful with my new enormous pregnancy boobs.

I really don't want to spend a lot, I'll have nursing bras to buy a couple if weeks afterwards, can anyone advise what style I should be looking for? Or where I can get a bra that won't look terrible for the sake of the day? The one I'm wearing in the picture is a 34G.

Easier to get a new dress than a bra to go with that dress, cos it is quite low and well tbh not very nice.

Massie234 · 20/09/2020 22:45

Umm... I bought it specially @KurriKawari... I like it.

I think the dress looks fine and besides that that wasn't the question anyway.

Would a navy blue bra that matches the skirt be an option? Or would that show through the beige at the top and look odd?

I'm not the best at these things either Grin

Palavah · 20/09/2020 22:56

You'll be a bit restricted given the wrap-front and low cut neckline. Would you consider buying a new bra and then selling it on?

Can you pin the dress or put a stitch in?

Massie234 · 20/09/2020 23:01

I could definitely pin the front a bit. It's such a long time since I've had big boobs I've forgotten what to do! And yes I could also perhaps take a trip to Bravissimo or somewhere and sell it on afterwards. The dress itself came from Ebay after all!

Thank you @lucie8881

Is it just to stop gaping? Maybe double sided sticky tape?
I think the dress is lovely. Congrats on both wedding and baby!

Try something like this

Justmuddlingalong · 20/09/2020 23:09

Amazon sell clip in camisole inserts. Would something like that work?

QueenOllie · 20/09/2020 23:09

Think you need a plunge style, linking to all 34G plunge bras here
Freya deco might work

Massie234 · 21/09/2020 08:02

That Freya Deco on sale looked really good, typical they didn't have my size!!! I will have a look elsewhere!

Thank you all, especially @Alfaxan for the well wishes

There's always some rude unkind arsehole ready to give their unsolicited opinion no matter how irrelevant it is to the OP Hmm

I personally love that dress - the colours are great! Agree you need a plunge bra or camisole

CarrieBlu · 21/09/2020 08:45

Ignore @KurriKawari OP, it’s a great dress, I really like the colours. Your figure is lovely too! I have a large bust like you and if I were to wear that dress I would get fitted properly with a decent plunge bra at Bravissimo and would almost certainly pin it too.

Amber0685 · 21/09/2020 13:18

I would try putting a couple of stitches in the dress, to make the neckline slightly higher. You look really nice.

Massie234 · 21/09/2020 17:46

Thank you all, could you tell the hormones got to me last night? My mission is some serious online bra shopping now, appreciate all the advice.

I was very happy with the wireless bras from Victoria's Secret when I was pregnant - they worked really well with wrap dresses with a similar neckline as your (lovely) dress.
I do think they ship from the US, so it's better and cheaper to buy in stores as Vat and duty are added (unless that has changed recently).

I'd go for a nude shade so it doesn't show through the fabric.

Congratulations!

Happydaysforever123 · 21/09/2020 19:30

No idea for a bra but I love that dress OP:)

NavyBerry · 21/09/2020 20:34

Bralette shape of bra is very comfortable and should work with this dress. You won't be disappointed with it. Google it

ArranBound · 21/09/2020 20:39

With that style neckline I usually put a few stitches on the inside to keep it together. I also found some pins that were like a stud earring; they were better then a regular pin or safety pin.

My congratulations, OP! I love your dress. Flowers

I don't want to be that person but.... are you sure you're a 34G?!
Massie234 · 21/09/2020 21:53

@Sugar00 I used A Bra That Fits which seems to be fairly Mumsnet friendly, but I'm open to suggestions if you think it's wrong Grin

Try boob or bust - it works. Online 5 measurements
