Didriksons (or similar) parka for petite person!

I'm looking for a fitted, waterproof, warm black parka. Ideally hitting mid thigh and without furry hood. I like the look of this Didrikson one but have read they come up big with long arms, and I'm only 5 foot tall and size 6/8. Does anyone have one, or any other suggestions? Thank you! www.didriksons.com/en/women/jackets/parkas/cajsa-women-s-parka-2-503504-999

I have just bought the Cajsa parka that you linked, I’m 5’2 and the sleeves and the whole fit are perfect!

popularinthe80s · 09/10/2020 07:12

@rk47, the Lissabon 160 was too bulky in the shoulders and too short in the thigh.
I think I might try a Casja or a Thea. I'm 5.1, size 6-8. Any ideas whether to get 150 or 160?

cardoon · 09/10/2020 08:27

@RogueV what size Cajsa did you buy and does it come up large or small (what size are you if you don't mind me asking) - looks great!

rk47 · 09/10/2020 08:29

Thanks @littlespeckledfrog. Glad you like it Smile. What’s the length like?

@popularinthe80s I ordered a lissabon too - think it’s arriving today but sounds like it’ll be too short. I also ordered a Frida. There are so many styles! I ideally wanted one with fur on the hood, so hard to find a good waterproof winter coat that looks half decent.
I think the Thea & Casja aren’t quite as warm on the other ones so it depends what you’re looking for.

popularinthe80s · 09/10/2020 12:40

It's hard, isn't it. I suspect that on me, the youth versions will be too short (I'm short, but I want it to cover a knee length dress and not look too strange with midi styles)

littlespeckledfrog · 09/10/2020 16:20

@rk47 The length of the 150 is above the knee on me so you might find it too short for what you want. The sleeves are just the right length.

Thanks @littlespeckledfrog I think I’ll keep it on the maybe list. I’d be ok with a mid thigh length coat.

@popularinthe80s it is really difficult! I often find coats too big. They seem to make them really baggy. The Lisbonna had the waist way too high for me and was still quite loose on the shoulders. The Frida (34 was the smallest size) is a bit big but looks better. They do 32 in some styles but not many. Think I might need to try another brand. Really like Didriksons though, haven’t really found anything else similar

popularinthe80s · 10/10/2020 08:23

@rk47 it is so hard. I had the perfect Didriksons - a Taylor, size 6. I'm still clinging onto it after 7 years of a beautiful relationship, but it's getting very frayed and worn. I think I'm going to take the plunge and try the Casja, size 32, so can let you know.

rk47 · 10/10/2020 08:45

@popularinthe80s that’d be great, thank you Smile

popularinthe80s · 10/10/2020 08:49

@rk47, you're welcome.
By popular request, I've sent up a new petite thread (for all shapes and sizes, not just petite and slight, though they are welcome, too).
@rk47 I took the liberty of inviting you, just ignore if not interested. Anyone else here is welcome on the thread, too.

rk47 · 10/10/2020 10:01

@popularinthe80s that’s a great idea, thank you for inviting me

RogueV · 10/10/2020 22:29

@cardoon
I bought the 40/14. I’m a 14 top and 12 bottom, it’s spacious enough to wear layers but not too big either. It’s got toggles at the waist to cinch it in. It’s a lovely coat! I managed to get it for £95 on eBay, I think it’s last years version but is identical to the one OP linked Smile
