Lurking in anticipation.

Whats your budget OP? Max Mara have the best winter coats IMO - I bought a second hand one - but new with tags - and it’s beautiful.

COS always do good quality wool coats.

I was looking at MaxMara coats but went onto Trust Pilot the reviews are awful.

I'm waiting for the sales but am looking at Paul Smith or Joseph.

The Outnet is good for bargains. I got a Belstaff wool coat for £350. Original price was close to £1,000.

Hi OP, I’ve been obsessed with finding a black belted coat for the same reason. I’ve lived in padded coats for the last few years during the winter but now want something a little smarter. I finally picked this one from Cos which is arriving any day. I managed to get 10% off too. It’s not 100% wool but they do have one that is which is a little pricier. For reference I’ve searched Arket, Other Stories, Uniqlo, Zara and Weekday and they all have similar styles around the same mark. Arket had some non belted versions that were nice but for some reason, I have become obsessed with belts so plumped for this one. Good luck and happy shopping!

MaxMara coats are excellent, particularly at the higher price point. I've never had a problem with their customer service but if you're concerned, buy from a retailer such as Matches, Harrods etc who stock a good selection.
