Lips and upper lips

My lips are clearly very dry. My usual lipsticks which in theory are a sort of pinky mauve ish colour, kind of end up looking toffee and harsh like after an hour of so. My lips end up looking smaller and I think the whole thing just ages me.

My upper lip is pretty wrinkly as well. I only realised in lockdown when I could see myself speak and how many vertical lines appeared on my upper lip when I spoke.

I think I need to change lipstick and lip care products and I was hoping for recommendations from you wise lot.

Eucerin Aquaphor, applied with a trowel and left on overnight is the only thing that makes a difference for me.

I’m really paranoid about vertical lines when I talk too. But having been hyper aware of them now, I notice them on lots of people so don’t feel so worried. How old are you?

I am 50, so I totally get that those lines belong on my upper lip, specially since the rest of my face is in pretty good nick so far. However, if there's anything I can do to soften those wrinkles and the state of my lips, I'd like to at least try. I doubt I'd ever go for anything invasive though as I'm a wimp, but you never know.

Ok I will probably get flamed for suggesting this but gentle exfoliation of the lip area to get rid of dry skin and flakes (soft toothbrush and a a good lip salve after) then you could look at dermarolling thr area. Lots of YouTube vids about it and it made my lips look plump and dealt with any lines. I need to start doing it again actually
