What jeans/boots this winter?

I’m shopping at the weekend and could just do with some pointers please on what to buy for this winter.

I’m a bit out of touch with jeans but have recently moved to the high waisted faded rolled up above ankles non skinny look. This work with trainers but will it work with ankle boots? Should we be showing any skin with boots? Won’t it be cold?

Any pictures or links about what sort of style to buy would be great please. I like slightly heeled boots like those Sam Edelman Pettys. Not sure if boots should sit low or high though? Thanks in advance! (Size 12 btw)

I’m interested too
I was thinking Dr Martens with a platform sole. Similar jeans

It's a bit of a free-for-all at the moment I think! But it depends on the jeans. I don't think the slightly western Cuban heel of something like the Pettys will work with looser, rolled "mom" jeans. That style was made to go with skinnies or slimmer rolled styles.

I'm going for skinnies underneath Grenson Nanettes and other higher-cut styles like DMs. I've no idea what to do with my Chelsea boots at the moment. I was wearing with rolled skinnies but they don't look right!

Not the top but this kind of silhouette on the bottom.

Socks! No ankle gaps for me. Interesting colours/patterns but nothing too 'fun' or twee.

Thanks all. I hear what you are all saying, sadly I really don’t like DMs or similar though. I much prefer a more feminine kind of boot. Any ideas?

My jeans were from H&M

I just bought some Dune Head Over Heels Rayee grey biker style boots lined with.. faux fur... I know not to everyone's taste but I love them.
Will be wearing them with either ankle grazer skinnies or looser fit jeans rolled up. (Also with short dresses etc).

I've also got some F&F at Tesco brown biker boots from last year that still look good; & 2 pairs of leather high heeled ankle boots in black & brown from Clarks for wearing to smart events.

I've got a pair of flat black OTK boots from River Island from 2 years ago, not sure if they're still fashionable to wear but they look nice with opaques & dresses.

Oh yes & our PA was wearing a shiny black leather pair of slightly but not too chunky Chelsea Boots with tights & a mini dress.
They did look good.
Not sure where from.

I'm also hanging on to my skinnies for under higher boots.

I recently bought some bootcut jeans! I have worn them over leather hiking boots from M&S...which makes me sound a bit like I've wondered out of my mum's wardrobe in the 90s 😂. But I do see bootcut more and more these days and they are comfy round the ankles. More so than skinnies. Who am I trying to convince here BlushWink?

I occasionally wear girlfriend jeans with boots, but normally I wear them as you say in your op. Rolled with trainers. They do work with boots, with a bit of ankle on show as well, but not suitable for the coldest weather. Which is when I'll wear the skinnies or bootcut.
