My style bores even me!

I am so bored of my style/clothes and I'm going through a bit of a mid life style crisis.

I'm 32, two small DC, and not in the shape I want to be. I'm most probably a 12 on the bottom (10 if it's stretchy eg harem pants) and 10 on the top, but I'm carrying a good 10lbs extra weight which I'm in the process of trying to lose.

My style has always been skinny jeans and a top, and trainers. Occasionally boots.

I've been on the hunt for a good pair of Mom/boyfriend/straight jeans to have something a bit different, I want high waisted so I can rock the whole tucked in top look as that does flatter me - my waist is fairly small for my size. Still can't find any that I really like, I think I'll have to go into an actual shop as online i never end up liking them.

What else can I wear?

I follow some good style accounts on INstagram, the styles I really like are similar to TeeClutter and the Mum Dress Code - casual and simple like high waisted jeans, cool tops, long skirts or dresses, but still cool and stylish. They are both tiny though so would probably look good in a bin bag!

Help!

I like to follow people on IG that look like me (Similar body shape and colouring.) for inspiration. Maybe change up who you follow?

Do you ever wear jumpsuits? Dresses? Skirts?

I do have a couple of jumpsuits and I wore dresses a lot pre COVID to work, which I love wearing! I just find it hard to wear that sort of thing casually if that makes sense - and I'm WFH permanently at the moment so my weekdays involve walking on the school run, working at home, then on weekends it's mainly parks with the DC and seeing friends. I would feel a bit silly wearing a dress etc there? I need to nail the more casual dress/jumpsuit/skirt look.

Not suggesting that you have to love any of those btw - I just thought it might get your ideas flowing.

I use Pinterest for style inspiration

That's exactly the reason I loved wearing dresses to work every day, you look nice and like you've made an effort but it's actually the easiest thing to wear! I think it helped that it was winter/early spring so I always wore tights, I'm not keen on my legs so would need a long dress for non tights weather.

I LOVE that Moschino dress! Shame about the price Grin thank you though I think you're right I need to just wear dresses. Off to browse H&M's selection as I'm loving their stuff at the moment.

Sounds silly, but even rolling the bottom of your jeans up can change their shape and make them look better.
