I like to wear minimal make-up. I was formerly a big fan of Dior's nude foundation as it was so natural looking and light to wear on my skin. They no longer offer anything like this and the current fashion does seem to be for a more heavy coverage. I've retreated into a primer (hourglass veil) and BB cream (decleor) combination which is fine, except for on all these zoom calls nowadays... My complexion looks quite florid on camera although in natural light it's not.
Please help me find the best of both worlds: light to wear and natural look when face to face in the office, but enough coverage on camera.
I am also exploring kinder webcam lighting options Grin
Thanks!!

MrsMortimer, I have No great suggestions but Would be very interested to know myself. Whatever I use that looks fine in the mirror looks like a) an oil slick or b) corpse like on video calls.

I've been using the Ordinary serum foundation. You can get it off Asos and it's very inexpensive. I normally prefer Mac Longwear for work but I prefer something much lighter at home.

I use Boots Hydraluminous and this www.cultbeauty.co.uk/it-cosmetics-bye-bye-pores-pressed-powder.html?ef_id=EAIaIQobChMIsaLq66vr6wIViLbtCh3rNgS7EAQYASABEgJe7_D_BwE:G:s&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsaLq66vr6wIViLbtCh3rNgS7EAQYASABEgJe7_D_BwE which I read a review of for use for online calls and it does the job but the BIGGEST thing that makes a difference is having my SAD daylight lamp behind my screen bathing my face in lovely softening light and removing gloomy shadows. I'm sure you can do the same with a lamp. If I'm going to be talking all day online I do want to feel positive about how I look and this really helps me. That and bright, flattering colour clothes on my top half and a heavy swipe of flattering lipstick.

Clinique even better and even better glow are both great as is the Perricone no make up foundation. The foundation/serum hybrids are really good

CatBatCat · 15/09/2020 15:35

No foundation needed.

Open Zoom > Settings > Video > check the box 'Touch up my appearance'.

pinkbalconyrailing · 15/09/2020 15:38

I find it's light more than anything you put on your face is the key.
very bright light from the front and the camera positioned slightly above your face.

No7 super light foundation 😁 or their Natural Foundation, I’m loving both of those just now

powkin · 15/09/2020 18:19

I really like Erborian BB cream. Does a good job evening out skin tone and feels/looks lovely all day IMHO. Not too glowy, not too matte. You can get mini tubes for about £12 if you want to try it.

Theworldisfullofgs · 15/09/2020 18:20

I use lily lolo and love it. Its mineral and you can make it as light or heavy as you want.

Also did you know there's a box to tick to get zoom to touch up your appearance? It's under advanced settings on the camera button.

Updownin · 15/09/2020 18:21

I second Erborian BB cream.

MrsMortimer · 15/09/2020 20:29

Thanks so much for these suggestions! Have checked out Erborian and it looks great. Might try that anyway and will have a look at the others too.
Grin at nomorelimbo and 'corpse like'...

The ordinary blur is pretty good on its own although it's more primer than foundation it makes your face look brighter without being too done. Worth a go!

NoMoreLimbo · 15/09/2020 23:20

@MrsMortimer Grin
I too shall look at the Erborian. Alas we mostly use ‘Teams’ for video calls. Have not found the touch up but can set my background to look like a tropical beach Hmm

@DefinatelyAWeeGobshite Which shade of the No7 natural foundation do you use? Is it the Essentially Natural one? I have Cool Ivory in it but sometimes wonder if its a tad too light, though its the colour they matched me to.
