Help please! What am I doing wrong?

I'm a size 10/12 5'3 hourglass with chunky thighs and saddlebags. I've managed to pull off skinny jeans, but they're all I've got. Just the 1 pair. Other than that I live in feminine float belted dresses to hide my bum and thighs. Trends are changing and there's so many cuts of trousers out there right now but I have no idea what would suit me. On a whim I purchased these ( https://www.marksandspencer.com/high-waisted-scarf-belt-wide-leg-jeans/p/clp60443887?intid=mobileappppdpshare ) from M&S thinking that they'd skim over my thighs and hang down nicely. The model is super tall and I'm so short so was hoping they'd be long enough. They reached my ankle or slightly above and made me look like I had straight stove pipe legs with no curves, and 3 sizes bigger and way shorter than I already am. I looked ridiculous. 😕

Most of the mom / boyfriend / dad jeans all look ridiculous on me. They either make me look really big and accentuate my caesarean pouch, or they just drown me.

I'd like a nice pair of versatile trousers that will go with lots of things. But I don't know what will suit me being so short or how to wear them - especially with flats or the chunky black boots that seem to be on trend.

I want to inject some fun and new style into my wardrobe but no idea how. I've been looking online and there's so much of the styles below in all the shops but I can't pull them off

I think the problem here is that these trousers are designed to look short and it can look like you've stolen your kids clothes, they're not really flattering on anyone that length. It's a pity bouncing go into a shop an try a load on. Trousers are the most awkward items to find IMO. You'll be better off looking at petite dance as too as they'll be cut correctly for your height. I live in yoga pants and harem pants purely for comfort and stick to dresses and skirt.
