Didrikson Helle coat - is it warm?

Hunt for a winter coat goes on. I like the look of the 'Helle' but not sure how warm it is - described as 'light' winter coat with 'some' isolating properties.

It's a Swedish brand with cold winters whilst I am in the rainy North West of the UK.

I don't freeze easily, mainly need it for school runs but won't spend time standing around watching the kids play football.

Anyone with this coat who can shed some light in the winterability?

Hi, i just bought this a couple of weeks ago. It's nice, warmer than i was expecting tbh, but that's ok as i feel the cold easily.

I wanted this as an autumn/spring waterproof coat but now i can definitely see me wearing it in winter with a jumper or fleece.

It is a really nice shape, great hood, good pockets. I'm really happy with it.

thank you, that helps. does the sizing come up big or small?

Well, i read conflicting reports re the sizing, with say size up, others saying to size down. I'm usually a 14, size 36dd bust. With a bit of lockdown weight, i figured i would order the 16 to allow extra space for layers and that should have been fine but i have to say even the 16 is a little snug across the bust 😕. However, it zips fine and there's still room for a jumper, so i guess that's just my disappointment that it wasn't massive on me. The shape is lovely, but given that it fits very well on sleeves and shoulders too, I'm inclined to think possibly they run a bit small?

Are you between sizes? Also, if you have a look on Holland's Country Clothing, the prices were quite good there.

thanks. Never sure about sizing was a 14 but since the arrival of vanity sizing I am often nearer a 10 so who knows Confused

I'm 5'7 and it's maybe mid thigh length on me. A nice length actually, as lots of others i looked at were too long or too short. Anyway, i think it would probably fit your needs but you can always return it if you decide against it. They have them on amazon too, and you get free returns with clothing so maybe order from them?
