Trainers to go with dresses

What are the best trainers to wear with dresses? Also colour, I'm assuming white is most versatile but how do you keep them white?!

I've had Nike Air Max 90's this summer! Loved them! I might need a black pair for winter!

Another Stan Smith/Superstar wearer here. Also have a lovely pair of white leather slip-ons from M&S Autograph a couple of years ago (think they were a dupe of a designery style) which I wore so much I had to track down another pair on eBay! Long discontinued, but Clarks (bear with me here) have these which have a similar vibe. They are slimmer-fitting on the foot than a lace-up so I used to wear them to the office, for example.

@ReviewingTheSituation Not a fan of white trainers + black tights, so in tights weather I switch to black or leopard print trainers, wore Nike Internationalists last year but ditching those as the sole is so slippery on wet pavements I had a nasty fall in them just before lockdown. On the hunt for something similar but less lethal now.

Adidas superstars or Nike Cortez - Always have and always will wear trainers with dresses

I swear by the plain white Stan Smith. They go with everything and are super comfortable. An added bonus they don’t make my foot look big and ugly despite being size 7, unlike most other pairs I have tried.

I'm putting in a shout for Converse cos the low cut with a midi gives you longer, thinner calves :)

BearFoxBear · 15/09/2020 21:35

I've no idea which Vejas I have, but they are so incredibly uncomfortable. Complete waste of money.

Honeyhoops · 20/09/2020 15:23

Adidas Superstars and Stan Smiths, Veja Esplars (tbh they're not as comfy as any of my Nikes or Adidas but they look nice) or any other smart looking white trainers.

ArranBound · 20/09/2020 15:40

I have white leather Lacoste Ziane trainers. They're not as thick a sole and are quite slimline, which is great as I have big feet and don't want anything to look clumpy. I love them with midi skirts and dresses, though I'm hoping they'll also look good with the trousers I wear in winter.

I use one of those Magic Erasers to take any marks off the leather.

ReluctantEarlyRiser · 20/09/2020 16:55

I bought a couple of pairs of Gola trainers this year to wear with dresses. Only £25 in the sale.

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 20/09/2020 17:17

My Vejas are uncomfortable too. I think i need to admit defeat and start looking for new trainers for with dresses.

LadyCatStark · 20/09/2020 17:45

I always wear Vans Old Skools. I have all different colours including silver glitter 😂.

So much choice I can't decide! Definitely not Vejas though if they are uncomfortable. Can't be doing with that!
