How do you wear a midi skirt?!

What do people wear with a midi skirt? I have one I would like to wear with black boots but not sure how to dress the top?!

I’d probably just go for a plain black or white T-shirt tucked in.

I go for a plain T-shirt or a fitted v necked cardigan with a French tuck. Wear my converse or Airforce 1's (spring summer and autumn) and chunky ankle boots in the winter (black leather or tan suede).

If it's cold I wear oversized jumpers or a chunky cardigan with a T-shirt.

Look at @Josieldn on Instagram (If you have it). She's always wearing midi and maxi skirts so may give you ideas on how to style one.

I am a midi skirt obsessive - with a t-shirt and trainers for casual wear and boots / heels and something like a Bardot top to dress it up.

Do you mean a flowy/pleated one? Or something more fitted? I think it's important to get the proportions right. I'm short waisted so if I'm wearing a midi skirt that sits on my waist, it looks better if I have something fitted and tucked in, preferably with a high neckline (polo necks in winter). If I'm wearing it with a jumper, I either wear a cropped jumper that meets the waistline or a very fitted jumper that I can tuck in. Anything loose and long just makes me look really frumpy.

It is high waisted and flowy with pleats at the bottom. This is the print if that helps, not sure if a black top would go? Excuse the creases!

I'd probably wear that with a white top - either a looser white t-shirt tucked in or a tight white boat neck/high neck top.

I’d wear with a white or mustardy yellow round necked T-shirt or thin jumper, tucked in if possible.
