Please help me find a face tanner

I'm desperate for a bit of colour!

Problem is I'm of the milky white persuasion, and of the few I've tried they're too dark, and also too red or orange. I need something that is pale, and has either a golden tone or a true bronze. I don't mind whether it's a wash off or a longer lasting formula.

I've tried the drops you add to moisturiser to get it pale, but they were still too red.

Has anyone any ideas, please?

Have you tried Tropic Sun Drops?

An add to moisturiser product but I find they produce bronze. You can do two drops, or three for a stronger colour.

I second tropic sun drops. Utterly fabulous

SoManyActivities · 13/09/2020 23:06

I use the St Moriz drops you add to moisturiser and think they are really good?

Feedingthebirds1 · 14/09/2020 00:10

The St Moritz were the ones I tried, but they were still too red.
Thank you for the link to the Tropic, I'll have a look.

I hate to say it, but if you're milky white, any fake tan on your face will always look a bit too yellow/orange. Could you be persuaded to embrace the milky pale, English rose look? Especially as we're coming into winter.

Clarins drops! I've recommended them before here Grin

areallthenamesusedup · 14/09/2020 13:23

clarins here too

Wiglio · 14/09/2020 13:39

My colleague is a fair strawberry blonde and recommends Luxe tan drops

DorotheaDiamond · 14/09/2020 13:40

When you add drops to your moisturiser how much moisturiser per drop are we talking about?

Krook · 14/09/2020 13:42

Skinny tan drops are great. I am pale and find one drop in my moisturiser every other day or so takes off the blue tinge. I go up to 2 drops if I want to see a bit of tan colour! Very natural shade.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 14/09/2020 13:48

I use Bondi Sands. It has a greyish cast to it which makes for a more believable shade than a bronzy orange.

Marylou2 · 14/09/2020 13:50

Definitely Clarins drops. Just one in your moisturiser and then build up if it's not enough. Bit wary of Tropic. Aren't they MLM?

Onthetrain75 · 14/09/2020 13:54

Get the lightest version of Amanda Harrington’s facial mist. It’s expensive but lasts ages. You can put it on with any larger bronzer/face brush. I am very pale and I really like it, you can see it as it goes on and build up the colour.

Yes they are MLM but despite that I genuinely believe their products are fantastic
Lily193 · 14/09/2020 18:25

Another vote for Amanda Harrington applied with a brush. My skin is blue toned and the natural rose shade is perfect. Best facial tanner I've ever used by far.

Bejazzled · 14/09/2020 18:26

What’s MLM?

IWouldLikeToKnow · 14/09/2020 18:36

I'm Irish and pale. I like the Tan Luxe drops suggested by a PP. 2 drops in your moisturiser gives enough of a glow. Get them from ASOS rather than other retailers though. They have a smaller size so it's not as big a commitment if you decide you don't like them. Also, they last me ages.

hellsbells99 · 14/09/2020 22:04

My DD uses Utan and loves it

areallthenamesusedup · 14/09/2020 23:00

Never realised Clarins did MLM. I get mine in Boots! Anyway, got a tip on here that Clarins tanner for body is same as the one for face just loads cheaper! I think it may be slightly weaker so I add 2 drops rather than one, but saved me a fortune 😀

Clarins aren't MLM. Tropic are MLM
Feedingthebirds1 · 15/09/2020 18:12

Thank you for all the recommendations. Lots to try and as cherryvodka said, in the end it has to be trial and error.

I love the St Tropez watermelon tanning serum. I used to use the Clarins drops and rate them, but this is even better.
