Any recommendations? Never done it before, looking for something easy but effective.

I was looking at Colorsport 30 Day Mascara on Amazon but the reviews are terrible, they seem to have changed the formula.

Following. I've had it done in a salon but think I'd do a better job myself!!

Try the Swiss O Par brand. It takes no time (processes immediately) and gives good results.

Ginfizzlife · 13/09/2020 21:25

Another recommendation for Swiss o Par, very quick and easy You wet eyelashes with the liquid, leave for 1/2 minutes then brush on the dye, that’s it done. It can be wiped off immediately, no waiting for development. I use a clean mascara brush to apply the dye as I find that easier than the comb they include.

Thanks for the recommendations, will check out Swiss O Par.

I always like to buy what a salon might use, rather than an off the shelf kit, which probably costs more.

I haven't bought any for ages, but blue black is darker.

Something like this -

There are websites that sell similar with free delivery, you would need to buy the mixer for it.

It should give hundreds of applications.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/09/2020 18:17

I also use stuff from Sally’s with a developer. Much better than off the shelf kits.

SimpleComforts · 14/09/2020 18:19

I buy a salon one with a developer.

I don't do it neatly but provided you shield your skin with vaseline, it doesn't matter as long as no one sees you during the process

Isitnow · 14/09/2020 18:30

I've just done mine for the first time using Refectil plus developer. It was very good and very easy. Bought in amazon. Also went with the blue back as someone suggested above and glad I did

JamieFrasersSwingingKilt · 14/09/2020 18:56

Is it ok to wear your lenses when you do it? I can't see otherwise!

SimpleComforts · 14/09/2020 18:59

I don't know if it's officially OK (probably not) but it's definitely less stingy if you wear lenses Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/09/2020 19:01

I wear lenses, jamie, just make sure it’s not too “wet” so it doesn’t run into your eyes.

I’ve just done mine, prompted by this thread - thanks for the reminder, OP! I also use blue/black.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 14/09/2020 19:22

Ooh, I really want to do this. Why do you all say get blue black? I usually wear brown black mascara. But I would want to get good impact if I'm going to the hassle of this.

JamieFrasersSwingingKilt · 14/09/2020 23:22

Ooh thanks for the tip!
