Acne from wearing face masks

I wear a mask for around 9 hours a day at work - surgical types of masks being an NHS worker. I only have relief from wearing it for half hour lunch break. My skin hates it and I have constant breakouts since, my skin feels like it’s producing more oil for some reason too. Is this affecting anyone else? Anything that can help or something we have to put up with!?

I give my mask a quick spray with salicylic acid to keep bacteria down.

Sudocrem is good for mask acne. Plus be super vigilant about only wearing clean masks.

I just came on to say sudacreme I had weird mask breakout and a couple of days it went, oh and a wash in the evening with antibacterial handsoap.

It's really ,really, common. Dermatologists' advice includes:- avoid polyester masks, try to use cotton. Make sure your masks are clean. Don't reuse them. Wash masks in hot water using a sensitive skin detergent, Use bland moisturisers and cleansers. Avoid any serums or fancier skin care products or treatments. Avoid wearing any make up on your skin or lips under the mask. Things that normally don't irritate your skin are likely to be problematic when you're wearing a mask for lengthy periods. Do use moisturiser. Stress is a trigger factor for acne so is
lack of sleep. Try anything that can reduce stress/distract you from and take getting enough good sleep seriously. Sorry there's no magic wand.
