Is it possible to change your parting in your hair??

Following. I have one child with a very side parting and one with a double crown. Very hard when doing plaits, bunches etc.

I have tried to change mine, but always give up because it’s so painful! About an hour after I put the new parting in I start getting a headache and it just gets worse until I re-instate my usual parting.

I have about an inch window in my hairline and the parting can be anywhere within that inch, but that’s it.

I have a scar close to my hairline which would be covered if only I could succeed with the parting change, but I can’t.

I change mine from side to side every few times I get my hair coloured to let any damaged parts have a rest
