Timeless Autumn Pieces

I'm just sorting my wardrobe for Autumn and would like to invest in some timeless pieces which might last for years.

I was going to buy:
A trench coat
Black oversized single breasted blazer
Tailored/smart wool trousers black and/or navy
Cream silk blouse
2 Cashmere jumpers
New ankle boots
Loafers

All not very exciting though! Maybe I'm getting old- especially as the best blouse and jumpers I have found are from M&S...
Any other key items that people are looking at?

And anyone buying any of the above and like what they bought and can share?

I wear my (faux as I don’t wear leather) leather jacket a lot in autumn - with jeans and jumpers but also it’s easily dressed up. So I’d add that to the list!

I like layering so would be wanting a thin (maybe merino) black roll neck. and/or a body or fitted tshirt.

I get a lot of use from a long sleeved shirt dress in Autumn.

I wouldn't invest too much in the oversized blazer - I doubt proportions will be the same next year.

The older I get the more I believe in finding out what ‘your’ timeless classics are rather than ‘the’ timeless classics. I don’t suit trench coats as I’m not very tall and they don’t especially work with the rest of my clothes, for example. A trench might be perfect on someone else and worn with everything. Maybe have a think about what your ‘go to’ pieces are and then buy the odd fashion item to perk things up so you don’t feel bored/in a rut.

This all sounds really lovely to me, not boring at all. Not an investment, but I’d buy some gold and silver layered chains too for a nod to the current season. I have these and they’re lovely with simple outfits.
