Minor one - Went to my usual salon for highlights but my hair looks awful and uneven. I’m booked in for a colour consultation with someone at a new salon, that used to work at my ex salon. So they know the people who wrecked my hair very well.

How do I navigate this without it being awkward? Do you think they may ask which salon did my hair, if so should I say or should i lie? They might ask which staff member did it and then I could essentially be bad mouthing one of their friends Blush

I know this as I’ve seen their work on Instagram, it’s amazing and I’m confident they would able to correct my hair, hence why I want to book in with them.

You can tell them the salon but when they ask the stylist you could just say you don’t want to answer that. Simple.

Or don’t even tell them the salon. Just say, I don’t want to badmouth them so id rather not say.

Would they even ask? I'd find it incredibly unprofessional to be asked which salon I'd been to. Their job is to fix it, not score points against another stylist surely?

The hairdresser that did your hair will be more than likely be really upset that you're not happy with what you've had done. Please go back to the original salon and give them a chance to put it right.

@TeddyBeans Ahh whenever I go to a new salon, they always ask which salon does my colour. It’s almost like token salon small talk! Feel like there’s an extra chance they’ll ask as I’m going in for a colour correction.

@notearthmum I don’t want to go back to my usual salon because I think their standards have slipped. The latest bad appointment is just the icing on the cake.
