Hairdressers advice wanted: highlights

Hey gals, just want to know if their is any hairdressers I can get some advice from. I got my hair done this weekend at a new hairdresser, full head of highlights. I'd not had colour for 6 months so large roots but I feel like she's done it and it's really uneven. Can anyone advise if I'm overreacting/what the best fix would be for this?

That doesn't look very good at all. You can see clear root lines

This is my before and after - I got highlights and lowlights after nearly 6 months of root growth

Thank you @DementedPixie for sharing my photo! Yours look a lot more even and to the root- I think i'll have to go back and see if they'll correct...
