Coat for midi/maxi skirt?

I would like a jacket and a coat to wear with midi skits through the winter... I’m 5’5, massive boobs, slightly overweight (size 14-16)
Biker jackets look terrible on me so though they look great with skirts on others, they make me look really dumpy. Denim jackets don’t seem to look right and won’t be warm enough for later in the year...
Most of my coats are knee length so I think it looks weird to have the skirt sticking out so much below. Any ideas?!

Look for 3/4 length coats
I’m too short to wear full length coats
Currently size 12-14 and biker jacket length just makes me look huge
I did find a longer length biker a while ago from next but still wear more with jeans than a dress or skirt

This works well for me though I'm taller

I’m a different size and shape, but I need a short jacket with midi length. I wear a leather biker jacket, denim jacket or a short faux fur. I think a full length wool coat would work but don’t especially like them personally.

maxi or midi? I think maxi would be a bit more formal so would require a different coat than a midi. And what is the skirt style? loose, full, tight? Your body shape?

Thanks for the replies. In response to questions- skirts are Midi, but I have a couple of longer midis that are nearly to my ankles.
Body shape.... probably closest to hour glass.
Skirts are loose and flowy.

I guess maybe a cropped fur jacket might work. I tired a 3/4 length today and thought it looked odd with inches of skirt coming from underneath. I still feel stuck!

For a midi, I would wear a long coat, longer than the skirt

for a maxi, a short one, like you say fur, or one slightly longer with a belt since you are hourglass (reiss used to have that style year after year). If it's not too cold, a chanel style jacket could also work

I’m the same shape as you! I wear lots of midis in winter and have two coats that seem to work well. One is a mid calf length swing type coat, boiled wool, lots of material very flowy. The other is a midi crombi type. Quite a masculine shape that seems to work with a feminine skirt. Otherwise an extra cardi, big scarf and a crop denim jacket might work?

I’ve been pondering this too, as I feel leather jackets aren’t warm enough in winter (although I’ll wear them if going out at night). I want to wear more of my midis for daytime this winter too.
I’m thinking possibly a full length wool coat? As I hate it when the coat is shorter than the hem of the dress.
