Help dealing with large pores

I am about to turn 40 and suddenly have large noticeable pores either side of my nose. I haven't really had noticeable pores before. My skin has always been very dry so you couldn't see them, but I am guessing hormonal changes may have changed this as my skin is also oilier in places than it used to be.

What can I do to reduce the size of the pores? I am trying to smarten myself up and they are even more visible when I wear make-up. So far I have tried boots airbrush primer, and collection primer, neither seems to do anything to blur or smooth over the pores.

Budget is tight so cheap options very appreciated, but if there is a holy grail product I may be able to get DP to get it for me as a birthday present.

The ordinary nicotinamide helps very well with pores. Think its only £5-£6

Thank you, I shall look into that. I am not very up on my skin care and when I started googling I just got confused by all the different names, and I had no idea where to begin.

I've had results with a combination of dermal needling and fraxel laser. Also regular use of tretinoin and vitamin c.
