DD12 - itchy scalp

Hi DD12 seems to have developed an itchy, flaky scalp over the last two weeks. I've bought some coconut oil in the hope that might help. She has ridiculously long hair that she washed every other day with Herbal Blends. She's getting a hair cut this week.

If you mean Herbal Essences I found that irritated my scalp. Perhaps try a different shampoo initially?

Thanks @fiorentina, I only recently bought Herbal Essence because it was offer. We've been using Aussie brand for years with no issues. Maybe it is the shampoo that's the problem :/

Have you tried using e45 shampoo? My scalp sometimes gets dry, itchy and flakey so use this when it flares up. Seems to help!

It could be the herbal essences causing the problem?

Head and shoulders? Or Nizoral?

It could be stress related too.

But I second Nizoral - it’s expensive but you only use it for a short while when you need to.

Can I suggest a quick comb through to check for nits?! I had the same and thought I had an irritated scalp until a louse scampered out of my hairline (traumatised for life)!

You can get Nizoral on prescription,

Calpasal is also good for an itchy, flaky scalp. Also available on prescription for children.
