hydrogen peroxide for whiter teeth

I have naturally yellowish teeth. Not terrible but not great. Have tried crest strips (not very noticeable for me although some improvement) and Zoom whitening which didn’t work as apparently it’s my dentine which is yellow rather than the enamel.

Has anyone tried 3% HP? I’ve seen great results online from people painting on the solution with a cotton bud and then brushing it off but I’d be worried about damaging the enamel.

I bought some 3% and have read you can use it neat as a mouthwash? Or I could dilute it and paint it on?

Any dentists willing to advise? Thanks!

Not a dentist but I use 9% mixed with mouthwash, bit of each in the cap, twice a day just to stop mine looking dingy.

If it hurts you put too much in.

Ah thank you. Do you do half and half? Have you noticed a difference in your teeth? And has your dentist noticed any damage?

I have tried using 3% before, made my teeth really sensitive.

I just slosh a bit of both in. It’s not an exact science.

Ooh, interesting. Where do you buy the HP?

Fluffycloudland77 · 08/09/2020 16:51

Pharmacist. You might have to leave contact details in case your a terrorist bomb maker disguised as a middle age woman in a Barbour.

Grin thanks!

Zoom is either Carbamide Peroxide or Hydrogen Peroxide depending on which you use. The Day White is HP, the Night White is CP

@Fluffycloudland77 has your dentist noticed any damage to your enamel or gums?

No. I use a phillips Sonicare and the two combined make me feel super clean.

Thanks

You could try Colgate Peroxyl Mouthwash first and see how you get on. It is 1.5 %
