Cool skin tones - no freckles or tan?

I've been enjoying the spin-off SBS FB group and have seen lots of posts from the women questioning their skin tone - either because they've not had an analysis or they don't agree with what they've been analysed as.

I've seen several professional stylists have commented stating that if someone is a cool skin tone (ie: winter / summer) they won't have freckles and they won't tan.

I'm an analysed (by house of colour) Summer skin tone and I HAVE freckles and I tan. I am definitely a summer skin tone. Very fair and pale, ashy blonde hair, blue eyes. But I've always had freckles that come out in the sun. I can tan, but it's hard work to get it and the tan fades fast. I'm pretty sure Main Hustle School woman was analysed as a Summer Hourglass when she was in the SBS group. And I would agree with that. But she's got freckles.

So I'm just a bit confused with these professionals commenting that a summer cannot have freckles or tan 🤷🏼‍♀️

I wouldn't think it would be common for winters to have freckles, but surely their skin must get a tiny bit darker in the summer??

Does anyone else agree? Any other summers out there who have freckles? Or winters who get a bit of a tan?

I'm a House of Colour winter and I have blonde hair and freckles! Can't say I tan though.

Ooh that's good to know @User1055 thought I was going a bit mad thinking - I have freckles. Am I really a summer? I'm very fair and pale, and I know silver tones suit me much better but I do think I'm more of a neutral cool skin tone because I can get away with gold if it's a pale gold. Usually do it more in the summer when I have a bit of a tan

I think they are generalising, and I’d consider myself an exception. I’m definitely a cool-toned winter and I have freckles in summer. Warm colours make the freckles look muddy, my complexion looks clearer when I wear cool tones. I live in a sunnier climate than the U.K. and since being here I do tan a bit (even taking care and with SPF 50) - enough for friends and family in the U.K. to comment (people here think I’m still pale and ghostly), but it’s not a deep golden tan.
