Country boots (dog walking)

My wellies have had it.. I want some decent waterproof leather country boots.
Can't afford Dubarry! So far either Dublin Rivers or Ariat Langdale boots are my favourites. But I'm quite skinny of leg and wondered if anyone has either of these. I have nowhere local to try them.

Any other suggestions gratefully recieved! I want to be able to wear them all day if needed so not too heavy!

I'm a dog walking vet but I've always gone Le Chameau.

Mine aren't made any more but similiar to these - I have a wool lined pair for winter and standard for summer. Mine are still going strong 6 years on and as good as the day I brought them. HTH.

I have a pair of Ariats that lace up the outside of the legs so fully adjustable. Fully waterproof. Not sure how much they would be - £300? but worth every penny. Have stood in horse manure, buckets of water, used them in snow etc. Leather and goretex lined so for dog walking you would never have to buy another pair!

I also have the lace up leg ariat grasmere! I reckon mine are maybe 10 years old and still very wearable and I haven't taken great care of them. They've been ridden in, through mud/water/horse muck/chewed by a dog and still keep going

Love my Dublin River boots. Survive serious brambles/overgrown garden. For less that £100, 6 years ago well worth the spend. I did end up sizing down, maybe not required if you plan to wear thick walking socks but comfortably accommodate my not particularly slim calves!

Toggi do a very good country boot that is not too expensive and lasts for ages. I think they are called Canyon?

Had toggis and Dublin boots , both were ok and lasted for about 18months of daily abuse.

Tuffa boots were my favourite though!

Have had ariat grasmeres and glaciers with the side lacing and now have some connistons which I picked up on sale at Mole Valley Farmers last year. These have a zip at the back and can be tightened at the front with full length laces which is ideal for me as I have one large calf and one smaller. Have been happy with the quality of all my ariat boots so far (4 pairs in 11 years, 3 of which are still in excellent condition) and if you shop around bargains can be found.

I bought these last year for muddy rugby pitches - not leather but amazing and laces mean adjustable for calves but then use zip for quick on / off.

They are also the toastiest boots I've ever worn and I must have tried 8 pairs before buying these.
