Boots and culottes

Help I bought a few Pair of culottes in the summer sales ( autumn weight ) not flimsy summer ones ... and now I don’t know about footwear - long boots?? Or which shoes ? Bare legs ? Or some fancy tights with ankle boots ?

This is a bit out of my comfort zone so looking for some guidance (So I don’t look ridiculous )

Culottes should only be worn with knee length boots. You can wear a colourful tight or follow the hemline but don’t wear ankle boots under any circumstances.

What do you mean follow the hemline ? Do you mean with the boot height ? The culottes are mid calve ish

Ankle boots can work - depends on the overall balance and how your leg looks in between. Just try a few things, with and without tights.

Try with different tops as well - going for an 'architectural' type look - emphasis on shapes rather than colours and patterns - will make any choice look intentional rather than accidental

All fine if you are tall and willowy.

I wear culottes with black Stan Smiths, brogues, or DM monkey boots - either with patterned tights or knee-high socks. I always keep the top half fitted/tucked in.

I’m 5ft 6 and a size ten, so not tall or willlowy.

I've got this in my head now in the voice of Alan Partridge. Or possible Uncle Bryn.

Cullotes and Dr Marten shoes work well, wear them to work a lot.

Trainers/converse type can look nice if done right
