What footwear do you wear with jeans if not flip flops or winter boots

I have summer and winter sorted, but not autumn and spring. I suspect the answer to this is trainers, but not nikes - is lifestyle trainers a new phrase I have learnt today?

Any other type of shoe? brogues are work shoes to me, and its a no to ballet flats. I also get cold feet easily...

trainers or ankle boots

workhomesleeprepeat · 05/09/2020 12:07

Literally anything! Jeans go with most things in my book. For casual though, I like converse and superga plimsolls, if you’re feet get cold I think they have leather version of their canvas shoes. My warmest comfiest pair of trainer type shoes are the winter ones from Vans

fartyface · 05/09/2020 12:08

Thanks!! can I see some recommended styles / links?

should they be white?

Trainers
Chelsea style boots. They are my usual autumn go to

MynephewR · 05/09/2020 12:17

In autumn/winter I wear trainers, loafers and boots. All look good with jeans IMO.

I pretty much live in trainers and jeans tbh. I have lots of different styles; air max, converse, new balance, superstars, superga etc. Trainers are comfy and versatile. But only with jeans in winter, they don't look good with dresses/skirts and tights.

Also interested to know.... to me, loafers are work shoes. Ankle boots feel like wintery overkill and ballet flats feel dated

ChanceChanceChance · 05/09/2020 12:19

Anything goes with jeans!

Othering · 05/09/2020 12:20

Literally anything and everything. Converse, trainers (of any discription), brogues, go walks, heels, boots. I mean, the choice is endless.

Orangesox · 05/09/2020 12:22

Dr Martens Chelsea boots or trainers are my year round go to. If it's reasonably warm I might wear some sketchers ballet flats that look more "sporty" than traditional ballet flats.

EggyPegg · 05/09/2020 12:22

I wear Converse (both high and low tops) and Chlesea boots if I'm not in tall boots. My hi-tops tend to come out in cooler weather as I wear socks with them, and the low tops are when it's a bit warmer as I always go sockless.

No, they don't have to be white. I have a white pair of NastyGal trainers, but they don't come out as often as my Converse. I have low tops in red, grey and blue and hi-tops in bright yellow, black with white stars and USA flag (red and white stripes on the shoe, blue with white stars on the tongue). My red ones are probably my favourite and to me they just give something extra to my outfit.

Whatsmynextmove · 05/09/2020 12:22

I tend to wear skinny jeans, usuakly with white trainers. I have several pairs but usually Adidas, Superga and vans

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 05/09/2020 12:24

I wear plimsolls like vans and converse during spring and autumn or heels.

EggyPegg · 05/09/2020 12:28

Forgot about my Sketchers (and I was wearing them earlier). I have some GoWalks that are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear them a lot, and they are particularly easy as they just slip straight on.

London1066 · 05/09/2020 12:31

I wear classic white converse and they are so comfortable. They wash well too if they get dirty. So many styles and they're only around £40.

ThursdayLastWeek · 05/09/2020 12:32

I wear some lifestyle Nikes or slip on Vans if it stills feels sunny and vaguely summery.

I move onto some Vans hi/mid tops if it’s wet/dreary and for the time before I switch to DMs again.

These are pretty standard, wear with anything, white trainers. In white and black or white and gold.

AyeCorona1 · 05/09/2020 12:37

Convers for me, in lots of different colours. I'm too old to think that trainers are for anything but exercising in (but I appreciate that seems to be the trend with my kids)

roundandsideways · 05/09/2020 12:37

Trainers, either Nike's or Vejas.
Docs, ankle boots.
I never wear ballet flats, terrible for your feet

delilahbucket · 05/09/2020 13:03

Converse (high top, low and summer slip ons) and I have regular ones and winter waterproof ones. I have some black and pink Sketchers that I like to throw on or I am partial to a ballet pump if I'm in a rush and can't be bothered with laced.

gubbbbbddaaaa · 05/09/2020 13:07

Trainers

Fedup21 · 05/09/2020 13:11

I’m like you-go straight from flip flops into boots! I hate shoes Grin

Dontsayyouloveme · 05/09/2020 13:13

Converse, loafers if dry, Chelsea boots!

Sexnotgender · 05/09/2020 13:19

I live in these - though not in this colour. I’ve got them in black, dark grey and burgundy.

fartyface · 05/09/2020 13:27

Plimsolls is a good descrption

I would just go for those addidas but £75 is a lit for me. I'd prefer 40 to 50

Depending on what size feet you have, you can buy kids trainers and they're cheaper. I'm a 5 and always buy kids, Adidas ones are around £50 compared to women's which are £75-80.
My most recent ones were really cheap! www.footasylum.com/mobile/kids/kids-footwear/junior-sizes-3-65/adidas-originals-junior-continental-80-trainer-white-aqua-scarlet-131222/?locale=gb&istCompanyId=d94237bf-2058-4774-ba38-3499bddb9813&istFeedId=bb79e3eb-1ffc-447e-baee-3dbd42b29d39&istItemId=iprxiptwm&istBid=t&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIu6CmkYnS6wIVAbDtCh2eNA0LEAQYBiABEgK7vPD_BwE
