Blazer

Hi there. I am looking for a blazer I can wear for for work, but I actually don't want anything work like. I'd like something beautiful, well made, very very comfortable and that pretty much goes with everything, which is not that hard as I mainly wear black. But I don't necessarily want the blazer to be black if that makes any sense. I am a size 10, quite short so a petite cut would be ideal. Or perhaps those blazers that don't have full sleeves...

River island and Zara

I love an unstructured blazer, really finish off an outfit without being too formal. I have a soft, textured one from Topshop and I roll the sleeves up and that helps to look less formal too(plus I have short arms!)

Thanks all. I want something of good quality. I like Zara, Top Shop and River Island just fine, but more for fashion items than for classics that I'd like to wear frequently and for more than one season.

Boden? They do petite and last time I looked had quite a few and are good quality mostly.

I love a blazer for work - made my plain t shirt and trousers look so much smarter with no effort. I had a few from H&M which were great for this.

Sadly don't need any more - no need to look smart since March

This gorgeous Comptoir des Cotonniers jacket looks so brilliant. Just enough quirk with the pocket shapes. Their tailoring and fabrics are always great.

The colour might be too dark tho, if you are wearing it with lots of black. Was it a brighter colour you wanted?

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 05/09/2020 08:16

Boden can be quite handy to get something that fits as they do petite, but I've really gone off their styles. To give you an idea, I am after the sleekness of something from Baujken or Reiss, but in a petite cut, which they do not provide.

Sorry link fail - I was thinking this one in the military green

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 05/09/2020 08:31

Oh I forgot about Comptoir! Thank you! Yes I do love their styles. Kinda pricey but now you've reminded me of them, I can look for discounted items. They're French so cuts tend to be a bit smaller, I find.

I have this in black. Works with jeans and smart trousers. Didn’t realise it came in a whole host of colours!

They usually have a small sale in October if you can wait.

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 05/09/2020 08:49

Thanks Persona. I'll keep an eye on their website.

I have the Whistles one in boring black - you can chuck it in the washing machine without issues! V handy.

MaverickDanger · 05/09/2020 09:13

Reiss.

Tend to be longer, excellent cut & can be worn for work or to dress up casual. Lots of different colours and materials on their website, including the outlet.

I have a couple and currently have my eye on a third blush pink one.

Tinkhasflown · 05/09/2020 09:14

I got a couple of nice blazers in Joe Browns. They are great quality and nice worn with jeans too.

AnaViaSalamanca · 05/09/2020 09:47

check banana republic and theory

PeaceLoveAndCandy · 05/09/2020 09:51

Banana Republic is a safe staple for me but I was hoping for something with a bit more interest. Never heard of Theory, I'll check them now, thanks. I am afraid Joe Browns' style is the total opposite to how I like to dress, sorry!!

If you like to save up for things, Magee do lovely ones that are £££ but should last you a lifetime. I always hold back on the blazers as they look cut for a shorter person but I am tall.
