Short bob haircuts

I used to have long hair for years in different styles. Cut to neck length (just above shoulders) but keen to try a short bob. However I'm a bit confused/nervous about the cut, does the hairdresser usually shave it at the back if you get a short bob? Thinking French style cut to the earlobe, maybe.

I had my second post lockdown haircut earlier this week. In march I had a pixie cut, by the time the hairdresser's reopened, I had enough length for a blunt bob. This week I had enough for a just below my earlobe bob with a wispy fringe. There was no shaving up the back involved. I've worn my hair short for years, but I'm enjoying the swishyness of a bob. My plan is to grow it further, possibly to my shoulders.

Is your hair one length? And just cut evenly across the back? I want to go a bit shorter than you, do you think that will work?

It's like this with a less thick fringe. It grew so fast during lockdown and is an even length all the way round.

Yes. So no shaving or undercut.

I have this exact haircut - complete with slightly curved blunt fringe per the pic. Along with red lipstick, it’s my signature look!

I've had short bobs before and yes, some of back hairline was razored (I think)

I've just been back for my second and went a bit shorter so needed it graduated at the back as I've got a low hairline. Where your hairline is will be the factor that determines how short it can be without it being razored/graduated.

Mine is below chin, just above shoulders with fringe, (usually swept sideways). However my hair is really fine & not loads of it. I'd still like to try shorter like this, but with a bit messier - this structure always feels like it looks like lego hair in me

Was years back (and behind me 😀) so cannot remember the how. Was not a pain to grow back, just happened with the rest of my hair.

I have one similar to the photo too; mine has an undercut so it lies well and is shaved at the back (also have a fairly low hairline). I love it but do get it tidied every 5 weeks or so.

It depends on your own hairline. Your hairdresser will be able to tell you how short you can go before they'd have to shave.

I have a short bob and the neck isn't razored. I grew it longer in lockdown but hated it and love being back to my short swishy hair.

I don't mind having it shaved but a friend said to be careful as it's a nightmare to maintain or grow out.

I’ve had that hair style for years. I let it grow during lockdown but all I do now is tie it back. It’s made me hair lazy. Going back to the bob next time I have hair done.

I don’t have the back shaved but I do have the front longer than the back.
