Colourful clothes for tall boys

My son is 13 1/2 and swiftly approaching 6 ft tall with size 12 shoes. He's pretty relaxed about what I buy him. I'm trying to encourage him to start choosing his own clothes more but he sweetly says he can't be bothered to do that he's fine with my taste. I would sometimes buy Boden when discounted/on sale because it's colourful but he's past kids' sizes now. I've bought from M&S, HM, Tesco and occasionally, John Lewis. Any ideas on where to get colourful, decent (quality) stuff which isn't too Dad-like or overly trend-based. He won't go near very skinny jeans for example; will wear logo sports wear like Nike but tends not to go for other logo stuff like Ambercrombie or Jack Wills.

My tall and skinny DSS (14) likes Element clothing - unlike a lot of adult brands, they seem to fit him quite well.

Uniqlo? Good plain basics, good quality from what I’ve seen.
