Football mum needs a new coat

The start of the dc's football season so every Saturday morning I will be back on an exposed football field for at least 2 hours in all weathers.
I really struggled last year to find a perfect coat. One that is warm AND waterproof. Any recommendations?

Landsend stadium squall, cosy waterproof good length

Seasalt Janelle.

Will have a look thanks.
I'm only 5'2" so don't want anything to drown me but still want to be warm and dry!

Both the above mentioned coats were too long on me, and the North Face Arctic Parka. If you find anything that covers bum but is above knee I’d be interested to know!

But surely you need maximum coverage to keep warm? Thinking back to November early mornings on the side of a pitch, I needed a coat to reach virtually to my ankles. My LandsEnd is perfect bar the annoying velcro at the bottom which sticks to clothes if I haven't done it up right to the bottom

Yeah fair enough, I just feel like a child wearing my dads coat when something is too long and I prefer something above the knee. Those coats were too long in arm as well as length for me and just looked weird . But agree floor length may be what is needed for standing around at football.

Landsend squall coats come in a variety of lengths and they do petite too.
It is definitely the warmest, most waterproof cost I have owned.

Can I also suggest either walking boots or waterproof (Gortex) type trainers rather than thin soled wellies. The thick soles will keep your feet warmer and I always ‘feel’ warmer if my feet/hands are toasty.

Get thee to The Northface for a parka. Marvellous for the sheer misery of football watching.

Ooh yes Sorel fur lined boots are also good

Another vote for lands end squall jacket. Mine is ancient and keeps me cosy at football every winter. Along with leggings under my jeans and a couple of tops, scarf and gloves
