YSL make-up

I was just about to buy my usual YSL touche eclat foundation on Boots and have seen they've got a great 3 for 2 event on YSL so I thought I might treat myself to a couple of new products.

What are your YSL favourites and why?

Has anyone tried the Touché eclat blur primer?

No advice on primers but I really like their tatouage couture liquid lipsticks. When they go on you may doubt it a bit as it smells very alcoholic but I don't find them drying. They have a brilliant applicator that allows for precise application and the formula is also liquid enough so to you could just add it to the inner centre of lips and then dab out with fingers (just remember to wash them really quickly) for a more subtle look that doesn't budge.

The mascara (something doll's eyes I think) is also good as are the saharienne bronzers which have that magically blurry thing the primer has too, I think, albeit powder form and a good choice of colours. Their liquid eyeliner is one to avoid, dries up really quickly.

Oohhh I'm on the lookout for a new mascara so I might have to check out the YSL one!

The touche eclat blur primer is lovely! I don't wear it every day, but it makes you look lit from within. Their loose powder is great too.

Daria32 · 03/09/2020 10:09

I love YSL touche eclat foundation and was talked into buying the blur primer - but to be honest, I didn’t rate the primer at all. I like the bronzer (the gold packaged one) and mascara though

Jemimatheragdoll · 03/09/2020 10:45

I love the touch eclat foundation-not too heavy and enough shades to get a good match. Was considering the primer but maybe won't bother now.

I also love their lipsticks this is my current favourite and have bought a couple as gifts which were very well received.

The mascara is nice but there's better around.

I need some eye shadow so if anyone has comments on YSL eye shadow, I'm all ears.

My holy grail nude lipstick is YSL shade 70... perfect pink loveliness... not too pale, not too brown.
It was a freebie in a mascara and touché eclat set and it’s gorgeous - has cost me a fortune over the years looking for this perfect shade.

missrks · 03/09/2020 11:22

I've got the all hours foundation, it's absolutely incredible! It's pricy but worth every penny! It feels so light when it's on.

Livingthecovidaloca · 03/09/2020 11:22

Just looked at the website... it looks brown but it’s not.

I also use the All Hours foundation, love it. I really like their highlighter stick things too. They used to do a great primer, something about radiance, that came in a brush applicator - there was a matching foundation too - which I mourn as it was discontinued.

Stargazer87 · 03/09/2020 12:59

I've just noticed that the primer has gold particles in it, does it look glittery on your face??

This is the highlighter thing:

Doesn’t look glittery no. It’s lovely.
Stargazer87 · 03/09/2020 13:06

@Sexnotgender oh good, I was thinking that wouldn't be a good look! 🤣

The dolly (think that's it) mascara is insanely good

notinthestarsigns · 03/09/2020 13:39

I’ve been wanting to try the touché Eclat foundation but never had YSL foundation before and a nightmare trying to colour match online.

Stargazer87 · 03/09/2020 14:00

It's my new favourite foundation, very light but gives a good coverage and glow!

WellTidy · 03/09/2020 14:04

Those that like the All Hours foundation, what is your skin type please? And how would you describe the foundation? I have quite dry skin, but oily nose, and I am looking for something dewy, medium coverage, that will not look at all Camry or dry my skin out.

WellTidy · 03/09/2020 14:05

cakey not Camry!!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/09/2020 14:17

welltidy my skin can be a bit oily. It's quite a matte finish and I think could be cakey if you were heavy handed. The flip-side to that is that it lasts really well.

I tend to put a blob (one pump) on the back of my hand, dot it on my face, then use a brush to blend, so I use it very lightly. I use the Hourglass Ambient finishing powder over the top

WellTidy · 03/09/2020 14:42

Thanks v much judy. I think it’s maybe not for me!

Stargazer87 · 03/09/2020 15:21

@WellTidy It sounds like the touché eclat foundation may be better suited to you?

OP posts:
feistyoneyouare · 03/09/2020 15:23

I love The Shock mascara. It's quite a heavy/dramatic one, but I love it for nights out.

Juanmorebeer · 03/09/2020 15:24

The blur primer is great and smells gorgeous

WellTidy · 03/09/2020 15:31

Thanks - I’ve tried the touche eclat foundation before and really liked it. I think I could do with more coverage though!
