Does anyone else find H&M knitwear ridiculously oversized ?

Even a Xs drowns me and I'm a 8/10
The sleeves are huge and it hangs like a sack.
Is this just me ?

Not just you, I’ve just had to return a size S cardigan for an XS. I am definitely not an XS, or even an S. Don’t get me started on the size 12 trench coat I just received from ASOS, my whole family could set up camp in it.

I find all H&M clothes oversized now. As a size 6, 6 stone 18 year old o could barely squeeze into a size 12 from H&M, but as a chunky size 14 41 year old I often have to size down massively. Vanity sizing?

whyowhys · 01/09/2020 22:28

It's ridiculous.
I bought a jumper from ASOS and honestly it could have fit me in 3 times over.
It's so hard for me to find nice knitwear that fits.
I don't mind things a bit oversized but sometimes it's ridiculous.

No. DH, DD and I all have long arms. H & M is one of the few shops that we can buy clothes with sleeves that actually cover our wrists.

I have just bought a few items in the sale. From the children's department. For myself. The trousers are age 11-12 which fit well. The tshirts age 14 are too big. Wtaf!

I'll just keep them as no doubt they will shrink. But it's beyond ridiculous. At least my tshirts won't get muddled in the washing pile seeing as I have a name tag sewn inside them 😂

TheSeedsOfADream · 02/09/2020 21:26

They've gone completely the opposite to what they were like as little as two years ago.
I have size 18 and XL t shirts and tops from 2018.
I have size 18s from this year that 4 people could fit in.
In Zara I'm an XXL
In M&S I'm a 12-14. Hmm

NeedToKnow101 · 02/09/2020 22:11

They're ridiculous! I can barely squeeze into their work trousers size 14, but I bought a size small skirt from there there, and it was too big.

Redcrayons · 02/09/2020 22:19

I’ve got an age 11-12 cardigan, that’s a bit big. I’m tall and not shaped like an 11 year old.

The sizing in their trousers are a whole different level. The complete opposite of vanity sizing.

I love the loose knit jumpers - but I can’t own one. The sleeves hang at least 4 inches past the end of my hand, and with that much ‘overhang’ just look ludicrous rolled up.
