Emerald stud earrings - yes or no?

I like stud earrings. I like emeralds (and it’s my new baby’s birth stone). But do I like emerald studs? Do they risk looking like pustules, or a bit dated and frumpy? Would welcome views...

Honestly? They are pretty however emeralds can look a little dull as earrings. Diamonds, pearls even plain gold is better near the face.

I mean "dull" in the literal sense - they don't reflect/refract light as well as other stones, etc

My only knowledge of emeralds is that they are delicate stones. Obviously they won’t get knocked about much in your ears but I would check with the jeweller if they will be safe in the shower.

The Jian ones are lab created though so perhaps they’re hardier as fewer fissures.

Oh they are lovely - seems you can also have a halo around them.

Ooh lovely, I'd get them in white gold then - with the halo if you really wanted to splash out :) I always think yellow gold can look quite 80s for some reason!
