Brown leather skirt outfit? Coat etc?

I have a walking date and planned on wearing a brown leather skirt, long cardi and long flat boots. Cardi is thin so what jacket would go? Would black leather be too much or denim?...

I'd probably go for a camel/stone trench coat - compliments the brown leather skirt and also similar length to your cardi (I think a short coat/jacket with a long cardi will look messy). Plus if you don't already have a trench coat it's the perfect investment piece, never dates and goes with everything.

I wouldn't wear a denim or leather jacket over a long Cardi, if they are the usual waist length styles. How about a long sleeve top with the skirt and a denim jacket?

I have two leather skirts, one black and one dark green, and at this time of year would wear them with a fine-knit jumper, and denim jacket. Definitely not my leather jacket.

Agree with pp that long cardigan and short jacket doesn’t work, regardless of what else is worn.

For me the trick with the skirts is that the rest of the outfit isn’t fancy, so opaque tights and flats. Once it’s colder chunkier knitwear.
