Where to look for sturdy jeans?

I 'need' a new pair of jeans for autumn, am thinking a slim straight leg. I would quite like some sturdy ones that don't go saggy quickly, a good thick denim that can handle a size 16/18!

Any brand recommendations?

There is a thread on here about Levi’s 501 for the the exact reasons that you have written... I got sucked down the rabbit hole of researching vintage 501s and have now ordered a pair 😱

Uniqlo are very good.

501s plus the button fly holds tummies in better than a zip. Original red label mens.

I don't seem to get on with Uniqlo jeans, they go baggy on me in minutes. My first pair from them, from when Uniqlo first appeared, were lovely, but I've had about three pairs from there since that I only wore once.

I like Levi's, but check that the pockets aren't the short ones.
