Looking for recommendations for some non sperm and egg killing, paraben and phthalate free etc for DH and me!

There was a thread on this not long ago. I use Salt of the Earth sprays, they work well.

NannyR · 28/08/2020 09:20

I've used the crystal type ones for years - I find they work brilliantly for me. Although they are marketed as natural, there are still chemicals involved - I'm not sure whether they are harmful in regards to sperm and eggs!

After reading similar posts on here and trial and error, I have found the Earth Conscious deodorant really good. I have been using the Lemon and Rosemary one for about 2 months and it has completely worked with the exception of one day when I had a very stressful work day.

I have bought the peppermint one to try for those type of days though.

In the past I have tried quite a few different natural deodorants and they just haven't worked for me. I usually have to wear something like Mitchum though and even that fails as times.

Previous posters have warned that some people might have issues with the sodium bicarbonate though.

IvyEf · 28/08/2020 10:30

Thank you, will look those up. I've also seen 'Wild' online - reusable casing and you buy refills. Not sure if any good?

Not tried that but salt of the earth are reusable too and have refills. Can get on Amazon

Well of course, given everything is made of chemicals, including air, water, skin, blood, cows, chickens, rocks, plants.......

Fitpit by the Green Woman (available online or in some health stores.) It’s amazing and works better than any deodorant - natural or otherwise - I’ve ever used. £10 but lasts months, range of scents for men & women. I’d post a link, but not sure how!

Tanyaaah · 28/08/2020 18:14

I have a fitpit tester pot, was £4 and I think will last about a month. It works though, I genuinely was not expecting it to, and I have an active lifestyle.

AlannaOfTrebond · 28/08/2020 18:50

I've been using Wild and love the lack of plastic and natural ingredients, seems to work well too.

The only downsides are that it does get white marks everywhere, so no use if you are wearing a sleeveless top and some of the scents are a little surprising. I usually love citrus, but hated the verbena, the rose one is nice though.

IvyEf · 28/08/2020 19:13

Thanks all. Went in search of all of these and only found salt of the earth and got two roll ons and two sprays to try. Twenty quid!

Will see how they are and try others too

I like this one. www.malinandgoetz.co.uk/eucalyptus-deodorant-2-6oz-e73g

LunaLoveFood · 28/08/2020 19:20

Moogoo is fab, I use lots of their products and can't find fault with them.

KipperSlippers · 28/08/2020 19:21

Native all the way for me. Free delivery from the states and I stock up now and then. Nothing comes close

NomDePrune · 28/08/2020 19:56

I bought Salt of the Earth spray in offer in Waitrose for about £3. I've used it for 3 weeks and no sweat, no odour! I can see it lasting about 6 months as you only need a spritz. Win win for me!

polkadotpjs · 28/08/2020 20:38

I know Tropic gets a slating but I bought their deodorant to help a friend and it's actually lovely - lemon fresh and I had it on during day trip in the heatwave recently and I didn't smell at all. I'm normally a Mitchum or extra strength user too.

StripyHorse · 28/08/2020 21:03

I like the aluminium free / paraben free stick deodorants. Bionsen is great, but I also like the Mitchum natural one.

LooseleafTea · 28/08/2020 21:06

Salt of the Earth has been incredible for me and DD as other deodorants just didn’t last but now we never worry . A friend told me about it when I was worrying about BO at school . I buy refills too as less plastic and cheaper

conkercoloured · 31/08/2020 18:46

This one nuudcare.com/

For anyone using a crystal one and under the illusion they are avoiding aluminium, give this a read, they are a con in that respect chemicaloftheday.squarespace.com/most-controversial/2010/3/8/exposing-more-truths-about-alum.html

damnthatanxiety · 31/08/2020 19:52

the crystal ones are literally a giant lump of aluminium salt. Which is the thing people try to avoid when changing to natural. So I really don't get it. Added to which, when I tried them, I found that they literally smelled like BO. I have NO IDEA WHY but the rock smelt of BO after I used it. I like several brands but the one that absolutely has me converted is Native. Which, typically, I have to buy from the US

NannyR · 31/08/2020 20:08

I use a crystal stick but I'm under no illusions that it's a more natural option. I use one because it genuinely works better for me than sure/dove/mitchum, it's more economical as one stick lasts years and there's minimal plastic waste.
