Joules Coast Jacket how do you wear it?

I assume this is silly question but I just got myself Joules Coast jacket in green colour but I’m confused about the fuss?
How do you actually wear it?
I thought it is a raincoat for autumn/spring.
I have seen some people wearing it tightly,
I tried on two Sizes 12 and 14.
12 felt tight so I returned and 14 is really big.
I’m confused as it seems like an old lady coat?
At least on me it looks strange.like builder coat..
I may return it.
Help pls

OP I've had a look at the website and I think the 14 is too big for you, the subtle shape features are lost. I often find myself between sizes in coats :(

I'd send that back. Get one with a more traditional parka shape, draw string at the waist.

I have the same coat in green. I bought my usual size. I definitely didn't need to size up and can fit a jumper underneath easily. I'd say it does look too big on you from the photos.

It's not a particularly warm jacket but very waterproof. I get lots of compliments on the colour!

I had size 12 I couldn't zip it up.
I returned it already.
I wonder now if it was a smaller size labelled as size 12.
This one is size 14 and I tried very thick hoodie underneath but still so big and spacious.
I could insert two arms into one sleeve.
Did you get the green one lately?

@Hiddennameforever I got mine a few years ago so maybe they've changed the sizing? It does sound like the 12 was possibly wrongly sized

Hope you manage to find something that fits better. I'm finding it so frustrating not being able to try on in store - I'm sick of having to return clothes I've bought online recently!

I've recently ordered and returned a 14... Then a 12... Then a 10…. None fitted well but I was gutted as I have been planning loving this coat for a year

@GlassOfPimms I tried the Coast coats at my friends
( she has few) so I thought 12 is perfect, hence I was shocked it did not fit when arrived. I stupidly did not check the inside label, only the tag.
I’m now pretty sure it must been probably size 8-10 wrongly labelled.
I had this happened with Superdry hoodie.
I ordered my usual size M and I could not even put it on over head how tight it was! I sent it back thinking what a tight fit!
Then later I spotted the hoodie in a different shop and looked it up size M and it looked as normal size M.
I re- ordered now size M in joules coat. It’s a small independent shop so probably will be the same I returned few days ago! As it was last one.

I have this coat in pink and I find the length strange but it looks a lot better on you , I think the bigger one looks better personally but sleeves look long . I thought it was a waterproof but it’s not which annoyed me but was ok for light drizzle. The colour of yours is lovely

I don't understand why people like it and I do love a good cagoule/waterproof. Joules are great for DCs but I always find their adult waterproofs disappointing.
After years of trying lots of different ones, I now tend to stick to my parka (if it's cold - great shape, style and fit) and a red parachute mac (lightweight, waterproof, gorgeous colour).

I don’t know. I sort of like the bagginess of it but the sleeves are so massive, that’s puts me off, makes me really bulky looking.
I ordered size 12 which probably will be the same one I returned 3 days ago!
I love the colour, I love green and I wanted this coat in green for ages.
