Most of the stuff I have had has been decent enough quality for the price. Not amazing but as expected

Great for dd fashion stuff

Few items needed a couple of loose threads snipping

jackstini · 26/08/2020 20:27

Oh, and read sizing very carefully - it's a right mish mash!

Inmyownlittlecorner · 26/08/2020 20:31

I’ve got a dress from there & so has my DD (11). I’m perfectly happy with them. They wash well & look like they do in the picture.

Check where you have to send it back to. China? Social media complaints are that they come up small and don't look like the photos.

I'll second this

I got a t shirt from there and it's fine. Just like the photo and a good quality t shirt.

It's probably hit and miss though I imagine.

I'm in England and have bought from Shein about 4 times and had no issue with returns. The return address is to the UK and I was refunded quicker than M&S and H&M.

The quality is the same you would expect from high street shops like Peacocks, Primark, Boohoo and the like for even lower prices.

You can search for cotton if you just want cotton as it is polyester galore. You need to check the size measurements for each garment as some are cut bigger or smaller. Say you are a size 16 then choose your size, a size smaller and a size bigger in the search filter and then check each item whether you need to order your size, size up or size down.

popcorndiva · 27/08/2020 04:58

I have got lots of summer dresses and swimsuits from here. All the dresses have worn well though are all cotton. I am a size 16 and find XL fits well.

The quality I would say is better than boohoo.

Harshab · 27/08/2020 05:48

In the past, I have had a great experience with Shein. Their cotton tunics, office tops were of great fit & quality but when I ordered recently, the quality was a bit of let down unfortunately. Then return cost was also a put off for me to buy from them again.

bananabeachhouse · 27/08/2020 05:57

I'm usually very happy with the quality of my clothes from Shein (but would recommend carefully looking at the reviews, of which there are usually many as you get rewards for leaving them). The quality is pretty consistent, and well worth the low price.

However, keep in mind the morality behind where the money is being cut ... I don't think it's the execs that are the ones making sacrifices by selling everything cheaply. If you need to purchase fast fashion, I think it's a good site but if not then charity shops or more expensive shops with slightly more integrity might be in everyone's best interest.

Either way have fun!

I got quite a few bits for holiday, took a while to arrive but I was happy with the quality, had to send all but one back as they did all come up really big and didn't have time to wait for new sizes. There were a few emails back and forth to sort the returns out but was sorted quite quickly

HasaDigaEebowai · 27/08/2020 06:39

They're not very consistent. I bought two identical lacey bra tops to wear under jumpers instead of bras where straps might show. One black one white. The black one is fab for the money, supportive, decent fabric and will clearly last. If I was younger and slimmer and it was the 90s I could wear it as outer wear. The white one looks exactly the same on screen but its a slip of polyester lace which is no good to anyone, no support, badly fitting, badly stitched. Its a completely different garment.

Mynameisrow · 27/08/2020 06:44

As PP said the reviews are really helpful. I always check them if I’m going to buy something as they recommend whether to size up or down.

I have only bought well reviewed items and never had any issues.

Ellewoods20 · 27/08/2020 12:16

I've got some dresses from shein. They are definitely better quality than boohoo. They look like they do in the pictures and wash well. However, I do always read the review first. The returns address is in the UK and refunds are quick. Don't bother paying for express shipping, it costs £12 and my items arrived within 3 days using standard shipping.

Watercoloursky · 27/08/2020 13:08

I have bought from them 4 or 5 times (I'm actually wearing a Shein dress now!). Like PPs say, they're Primark-ish quality, purchases tend to be a mixed bag but I've found them great for summer dresses and shorts.

Of the 5 items I bought most recently (arrived the other day, including the dress I'm wearing), I'd say 3 are fabulous, one is too long (but I'm very short - my fault for ordering a maxi dress! - won't be a problem to take the hem up), and one was a bit disappointing as the fabric feels quite cheap - if you read the descriptions and look at the reviews (which often include photos of the clothes on non-models), you should get a good idea of whether things are worth buying, though.

danuta22 · 27/08/2020 13:14

Thanks everyone, that's very helpful. Will have a look :)

Spot on. I've ordered lots from Shein. Sizing and quality varies but I've been really pleased with what I've kept. Returns are to the UK and cost £2.50 per parcel. If you order via the app you get 15% off too
