It’s crap. Absolutely crap. I hate shopping these days. If you don’t know exactly what you need, forget it

Coffeeandcrumpet · 26/08/2020 20:42

Why would they open, strangers right up in your face, no mask on, for absolutely no long term benifit as you was it all off later that day. Will be surprised if they ever re open, think they will be a thing of the past.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 26/08/2020 20:50

In Boots they can offer advise and put some products in a little tub for you to take home but obviously no colour matching on your skin.

hastingsmua1 · 26/08/2020 20:52

I was at a makeup counter earlier today and they said they were bringing testers back “soon”.

PersonaNonGarter · 26/08/2020 22:48

If we knew the answer to this, we’d know when the pandemic would be over.

Beauty counters will be the last last thing to open on the last day of any restrictions.

Lardlizard · 26/08/2020 23:19

Holly is that only on the number 7 products though ?

I was literally thinking the same thing today! I've got a party to go to and I really want my make up done!

Lardlizard · 26/08/2020 23:28

I tend to think if I’m going to be spending day 35 quid in foundation might as well get the make up done, and every single time, I either discover a new product I like
Or discover oh no lardlizard that doesn’t suit you at all
And therefore save money ! Plus I enjoy it

I’ve had a little pot of Bobbi Brown foundation from John Lewis to try at home. I would think most brands will give out samples or no one will be buying new colours on the off chance they’ll be right.

Lardlizard · 26/08/2020 23:34

Me and you, when was that today ? I didn’t think to ask, ill ask next time

It's rubbish isn't it? I went shopping last week for some bronzer and most of the counters were stripped bare. If you asked, the lady (if there was one there at all) would get a tester out of the cupboard and scrape a little into a teeny paper cup, which I was allowed to rub onto my hand. I know there are more important things going on in the world right now but it was just another reminder of just how shit things are atm. The joy has been sucked out of it and the experience has become very transactional - just like shopping in general...

Endlessmizzle · 27/08/2020 09:18

I am finding it really hard to find any no7 help to choose a shade. I wish they’d do shade cards like tarte does (tiny samples on a blister card)

MoltonSilver · 27/08/2020 10:02

Honestly, I think it could be 2022 before they reopen :-(

Lardlizard · 27/08/2020 10:04

Only one good thing I guess, could be, move on to cheaper stuff
Like max factor type things
