Would you say doing curly girl is worth it?

My hairs a mixture of quite wavy and straight Confused If I let it dry naturally it just looks quite crap really, so I tend to blow dry it straight. I'm considering doing curly girl but it seems confusing and a lot of hassle, and I'm a bit worried that it will still look crap. How long does it take to see results and would you say it's worth it?
Also, in the winter I won't want it to dry naturally so would use a diffuser, would that still make it work?

Oh an had a thought as well - you need more product than you think. I have shoulder length hair and use a good palmful of the UG Jelly. It is quite a thin/wet gel so it is a flat palmful (if that makes sense) - but I give the tube a good squeeze. You want all of your hair to be coated in the gel - not just a light dusting - this is the key to getting a good cast (crunch) and then absolutely the key to getting good day 2/3/4 hair. You don't have to add anymore gel (though some people do for their refresh) but enough gel on wash day is key to preventing frizz/curl drop.
