But i do feel really awful for the people who've been threatened legally so for that reason I will continue to follow this.

Sarahbarney not being transparent about what? The things she doesn't declare as ads?
Just want to make sure, as it could read as though you contacted her just to get a response that you could post about here... even GOMI don't allow that for fear of legal reprisals, and they are way more savage than Tattle. That's the kind of thing that could get the thread pulled by S, so be careful.

I asked about the #ads and affiliates and also asked for some transparency on how they are addressing the errors moving forward, as a potential new customer i wanted to know what they were implicating that was going to make any new service they provide actually correct for each woman as at the moment there doesn't appear to be any changes to what she offered prior to these women speaking up.

I wanted to know that if I was to spend my money, how they would be the unique service she says they are on linked in as most reviews say it is generic. I genuinely expected her to reply and tell me what they were doing to change the opinions of these women and for new customers alike but she didn't answer any of my questions.

Does anyone know if there is a group for the ladies who received letters? Somewhere to see what others are doing about it, does that make sense?

No there isn't. Some have got in touch with others who have received letters, but more have signed the papers and deleted everything as they then are at risk of injunction.

But in any case a group would be problematic as if members joined and discussed what they wanted to do then it all gets screenshotted for the solicitors, well. Not good for the members.

No problem. There are a number of members on here and on the other site who have mentioned that they have experienced this so you could message them - I haven't received a letter but have seen them and talked with members who received them so you are welcome to PM me.

Hello everyone. A representative of Susie Hasler asked us to post the following statement from Susie:

Over the last few months, false material has been posted online about me and my business “Styled by Susie”.

I have written the following statement to clarify a particularly damaging allegation that has been circulating online.

There is a false claim circulating online that I have taken Legal action against several individuals in response to Trustpilot reviews.

1) I have not, and will not, take legal action against individuals on the basis of Trustpilot reviews.
2) I have not sent letters to several individuals threatening Legal action.

For clarification, I can confirm that on advice from my solicitor, I authorised cease and desist letters to two individuals under the Protection of Harassment Act 1997.

The letters were sent in response to a specific, targeted and sustained campaign of harassment.

Harassment of others is a criminal offence and the civil courts will also impose sanctions on those who harass. The harassment has been undertaken by these two individuals and it is only these two individuals that I am taking action against.

The individuals have posted using multiple aliases on website forums (including multiple aliases on the same forums), claiming to be part of a group of “several people” that have received letters. This is false.

There is no truth to the allegation that I take Legal action in response to genuine customer feedback.

I am committed to making Styled by Susie a great customer experience and have taken on board customer feedback to develop and improve the business.

I am releasing an update and redesign of our online styling and will be providing customers with a more bespoke service.

I have also developed an improved customer feedback procedure. I welcome customer feedback on these changes so I can continue to improve Styled by Susie.

All the best,

Susie

Well that isn't true. I have spoken to 4 separate people (off the top of my head) who have received letters. They definitely aren't aliases. As for the rest, well good luck to her. I won't be putting my money into that business again.

Yes. Where I am standing, I see a group of women who are deleting posts and are terrified to speak up, and I see an individual who is doing all the talking. I am going to believe the women who are frightened to say anything. I believe you. In all of you.

I wonder how anyone would be able to know if people are posting under multiple aliases.

Report
WawLaDot · 25/09/2020 10:35

Well that's a load of rubbish! One of the people who received a letter was quite open and very easily identifiable in real life by posting about the messages she received and the reason she was removed from the group, I can't see why she would lie about it? Susie why couldn't you just have come out right at the start of this massive fuck up and just said sorry to the customers who felt they were treated unfairly or those who felt their analyses were not good enough, and then explained what improvements you're making going forward? And get rid of that god awful woman you allowed to talk to your customers like turds as well, she has been terrible for your business. I also won't be spending any more with styled by susie. I've dealt with car salesmen, estate agents and cowboy traders and still never been left feeling so crap after dealing with a company as I did with Styled by Susie.

I suppose if the tone is similar? I have seen a solicitor letter to a member accusing her of this and telling her she is lying - and that she has to delete all the alias posts as well - but I have spoken personally to both of the posters and they are definitely different people. So how that can be done I do not know.
And yes how exactly does SBS know they are aliases? For the record, I only have this account and I post on it fairly often. I haven't to my knowledge received a letter but then I didn't bother leaving a review either.

@TrashPandaTime

I was thinking earlier that only a few weeks/months ago this thread and the previous were just a few of us saying we didn’t think she always got people’s seasons or shapes right, but the business was a good idea and could be fantastic with some work.

Then the complaints started to come out and rather than address them she doubled down and escalated the situation, blocked people and encouraged positive trust pilot reviews, real or fake.

Then when we still didn’t stfu she doubled down and escalated further; started randomly removing members of her fb group then eventually closed her fb group with 14k or so members and decided that the way forward was paid Patreon, reducing her following to 800 or so.

Because of this, more bad reviews came out and people on the new group started to realise what was happening, so she doubled down and escalated AGAIN and sent cease and desist letters to bully people into submission.

Now people are aware of her threatening others with legal action which is arguably not great for her business.

Anyone want to guess what her next action will be?

Two choices:

1) Admit the faults in her business, apologise to unhappy customers, move on and try to better herself and her business; or

2) Double down and escalate

????

Colour me surprised.

(No pun intended Wink)

Mumsnet know if people are name changing and posting on the same thread, and if they spot it they tend to delete posts and warn people (from what I have seen).

Considering these threads have been slightly controversial I would be surprised if mumsnet weren’t keeping an eye for this exact reason.
