Foundation Colour Match During Pandemic

Has anyone managed to get a skin colour match for a foundation on the high street during the pandemic? I've run out of foundation but really need someone to choose me the right colour. I did contact Clinique recently who said they could provide small tester pots but that they wouldn't be able to test products on me personally.

I have a Debenhams, Boots and Superdrug locally.

You could try this website, findation.com/

Yes, I did at the Chanel counter at John Lewis. The make up counter woman took one look at me, and managed to work out my shade. She then decanted some into a disposable pot and let me apply it to myself, then she checked it matched properly. Worked just fine!

Thanks @asparalite A friend suggested that site but I think it just matches one shade in one brand to another. Currently I don't know my true shade so need to start from scratch.

Sounds like John Lewis could be worth a try.

I was in Boots today browsing the 3for2 on No7, and noticed they are advertising a "make-up exchange promise" - if you buy the wrong shade you can return it within 35 days and swap for another, even if you've opened it.

I’ve switched to Il Makiage during lockdown. You find your foundation shade match via the quiz, and if it’s not right for you then you can have a refund so there is nothing to lose. I have been astonished by how well it works though - the quiz matched me perfectly for foundation and concealer.

I got matched at the Charlotte Tilbury shop. All very clean and distant. The lady laid all the small dots of colour out and I put it on myself.

Thanks ladies. It sounds like there are more options than I thought.

Have you looked at Trinny London? Their match2me service is very good. Online video consult with one of their makeup artists. They specialise in light cover ‘foundations‘ though. Not for you if you want thick stuff.
