Plus size, towelling 'dry robe'

My swimming pool is opening soon, and I'm desperate to get fit, so plan to go 3 times a week, early morning
But the changing rooms won't be open, so I plan to drive to the pool with my cossie on, but I need a long-ish towelling robe to stick over my cossie.. And obv stick on again for my drive home and shower
Can anyone recommend one for a larger lady?! It needs to flare out a bit so it doesn't stick to my big belly. There are a lot of options online, but all seem quite 'up and down'. Thanks!

Something like this? You’d not need to worry about it flapping open

How about a towelling dressing gown?

BikeRunSki · 22/08/2020 20:23

Decathlon do one which is one size, but room on me (size 16, big bum and thighs),

Ooh thanks, didn't think of simply be... And will take a look at decathlon. I'm a size 20 with most weight on my belly... Don't want any 'gaping' shudder

Are you sure changing rooms aren't open for swimming?

In my gym it's only available for swimmers. So anyone doing a class or using equipment can't use the changing room. But swimmers can. They have however removed anything 'nice' including the shampoos and the hairdryers so people don't want to stay long. I think they've even imposed a time limit too.... worth checking as it will be pretty uncomfortable to drive home in a wet costume. Perhaps the toilets are open for you to whip off the costume and throw on a tracksuit?

Definitely check the adult towelling Dry Robe (not the fancy Triathlete type) they're about £40 but thick and fluffy. Great quality and very very roomy plus they wash well. I have the long sleeved version-You can pull your arms in and change underneath, it's massive but not so tent like that it's too much. I've ended up buying a second as my DD kept stealing it to use at the beach and it's so much better quality than many others.

A few different colours available - I got the Large and it's really roomy, fine for plus size.

I am the same size as you and swim two or three times a week at my local lido where the changing rooms are currently shut, or at the swimming pond where there aren’t any!

The best £20 I have spent is on a microfibre robe. I tend to get changed under mine rather than wearing a wet costume home (also i’m on my bike!) which gives you an idea of how roomy it is, and it does a good job of drying me off and doesn’t get heavy like towelling, plus it washes and dries really quickly so it’s ready for the next trip. I like hood too.

This is the one I have - I do not endorse the ludicrous snail logo on the front! - the cost per use must be absolutely tiny. I’ve noticed a few other people in them at the lido recently ...

Thanks so much for all suggestions! Yes, 'changing' at side of pool and no showers for the time being. The great thing about a decent robe will be that I can use it at tbe beach into autumn... How have I lived without one?!!
