Quality of Dubarry boots

I’m after some nice looking waterproof boots which will support my feet on walks, but I could wear into town too.

I’ve had my heart set on Dubarrys for a while - but on researching a little bit it seems they’ve potentially gone down in quality in recent years. Whenever I’ve read about people whose dubarrys have lasted - it seems they bought them years ago! So is unlikely to reflect the current quality of their newly produced boots. And the fact their warranty is only 12 months puts me off given the cost...

So my question is: can anyone who has bought dubarrys in the last three years or so give me their thoughts? Have they lasted? Are they still worth the cost?

(Re alternatives to dubarry which I’ve considered - I’ve messaged Ariat to ask which of their boots are good for slim calves and am also considering some of theirs. I’ve heard mixed things about alternatives such as Dublin. I’ve tried the Le Chameau Jameson’s which were sadly too big for my calves. Although the andalous are tempting... And I like the look of fairfax and favor explorers but £450 is a little steep)

Any help much appreciated!!!

Dubarry have definitely gone down hill, my last pair lasted 12 months, saying that I wore them down the stables for 2-3 hours most days in rain, snow and sunshine, they were bought 2016ish.

For durability I’ve been wearing Kanyon country boots, I’ve had two pairs now that have lasted about two years/at least two winters, they’re like slippers, I love them.

I’m currently lusting after Ariat Wythburn H20 but I’m refusing to buy them because however much I promise myself I’ll keep them for general dog walking and trips to town I’ll end up at the stables in them and trash them.

Can’t speak for narrow calf’s though, I am unfortunately rather sturdy in the leg department so have the opposite problem.

I am not sure about Dubarry as I have never owned any although have heard the quality has gone downhill.

I love Ariat and have a pair of Grasmere that are still going strong that I bought in 2010 (I think) and have had a lot of "harsh" wear. I am not slim of calf though so can't help there either. My very slim and petite SD has some Ariat boots that fit her well - not sure which they are though.

I bought mine last year. Quality is fine, but I actually find them too flat for walking long distances in, and making my arches very painful.
And I say that as someone who spends all summer in salt waters so is used to very flat shoes!
