Are electric shavers any good?

my 13yo wants to remove the hair from her legs. I am not interested in a debate about the politics of hair removal - her legs, up to her.

I'm not super-high maintenance, and all I do is wield a gillete venus as and when I want to wear a dress, which isn't often. Having shredded my knees and ankles a few times I wonder if an electric shaver would be a better bet for a teen? If it's relevant her hair is fine and blonde.

I use a battery operated shaver on my legs. Think it was about £15 from a supermarket.

You don't get as close a shave or as silky a leg as you do with a razor but it's very quick, absolutely painless and easy. Only real problem is you need to do it daily if you don't want stubble. Not a problem for me as I tend to wear trousers so just do a quick run over when I'm getting my legs out.

great, thanks. She's ridiculously fair so any stubble wouldn't be very noticeable, which is why I thought she might be able to get away with an electric one.

I have this one much better to have recharchable even though a bit more money as they eat up batteries.

I use a Remington one - replacement recent purchase about £16 from boots
I've not noticed them being heavy on batteries tbh
Only takes a minute per leg / arm pit on me

My mum started me off on an electric shaver when I was a teen and wanted to shave my legs - I agree even now it was the best move!

brilliant, thank you all. we had a chat and she's quite keen on learning her craft with an electric shaver and switch to wet as and when she feels more confident, so we'll order something today.
