I need some plus size clothes...mainly basics

I’ve gone from a 32 to a 22/24 and have seemingly forgotten how to dress.

I lived in smock tops and leggings and am now living in black jeans and T-shirt’s like these in every colour.

I just want some different clothes...and I can’t live in T-shirt’s in winter!

I have a v round, red, fat face, A wobbly tummy with an apron, loose skin on my arms, broad shoulders and back fat. I’ve got brown hair (sorting that out will be my next thread...) and a pale/medium complexion.

I’d love any help! Thank you

Firstly well done!!

Secondly, next has some good stuff and new look if you're trying out styles to suit you.

I wear skinnies from peacocks (size 20) and tops from joules, Wallis, or dresses from next often.

Well done in losing weight - I need some motivation to get a good couple of stones off!
What about midi dresses? They are a good length, cover arms, and skim bellies & bums. Snag tights do plus sizes too.

littlebirdieblue · 18/08/2020 18:56

Dorothy Perkins curve do some lovely basics. Very has a nice curve collection too. Well done in the weight loss!!

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 18/08/2020 18:57

What's your height?

I'm 5ft 8, a size 22 and apple shaped, decentish legs, big belly and flabby arms (I'm a catch 😁)

I like midi dresses or just below knee, gap or Boden do good quality thick jersey that doesn't cling to every bump and I prefer an elbow or 3/4 length sleeve.

Steer clear of horizontal stripes, and I always find a v neck more flattering than a high neckline, makes my neck look longer.

Snag tights are definitely the best for size, you don't end up with them rolling down or sagging at the crotch.

Thank you and thank you for the well wishes on the weight loss!

It’s very much stalled over lockdown so I kept putting off buying clothes because I’ve got a lot left to lose but I’m in desperate need of some clothes so will have a look at everywhere mentioned!

I’m 5’7 and VERY Apple Grin

Have you tried George at asda? I'm the same size as you and bought this top last week. It skims nicely over my tummy.

Simply be have some good stuff (And often have discount codes) and Sainsbury’s and Asda are good for basics.

Oopsiedaisyy · 18/08/2020 21:18

Try asos, they have a great returns system. Order a range of things and see what you like.

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 18/08/2020 21:30

Thanks all, much appreciated!

Kit & Kaboodal - linen and jersey tops and dresses. Great for apple shapes, as they have a lot of cocoon style dresses and tunics.

compulsiveliar2019 · 18/08/2020 23:30

I would recommend simply be and yours. Both have a good range. ASDA and Sainsbury's also go up to quite big (bigger than 24).

I've just bought lots of lovely summer clothes from all 4 and have been very happy with all of them. I'm the same size as you

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 19/08/2020 09:01

Thank you!

I have had some good stuff from Asos (which is normally I find from New look!) but most of the stuff is a bit too out there for me. It is ok if you really want to show off masses of cleavage whilst (strangely) still having a high neckline???, skirts just covering your knickers so proudly showing tree trunk legs. If you have the confidence - go for it!

I have bought some nice stuff from Sainsbury's, Debenhams, Peacocks, Next and George at Asda (oh and John Lewis - I love their cos type stuff -Kiln???

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 20/08/2020 18:59

Thank you!

My problem I think, is that I can’t get out of the size 30/32 mindset. I only ever shopped at Yours or Evans and I feel like they’re still the only options! So I’m struggling with new places as I automatically think they won’t fit...in having fun browsing though!

IVORNOIDEA · 21/08/2020 18:20

Blast- well keep a look out because they often restock.

this one is a good one too but is cotton rather than jersey.

I also rate this and have three!

IVORNOIDEA · 21/08/2020 18:22

this jumper is very flattering and washes well

IVORNOIDEA · 21/08/2020 18:25

Also I haven't tried it but this looks good www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/black-soft-touch-tunic/BB003/product/details/show.action?pdBoUid=3014&optionColour=Black

It is worth having a look at crazy clearance as they sometimes have the items in stock.
