Help - yellow hair like a Disney character

Not me thank god. My niece has bleached whole head blonde at home. It’s very yellow! She says it’s not bad condition but doesn’t love the colour. Can I ask you experts if there is a toner she can order to take the yellow out of it? Asking the experts. Don’t think a purple shampoo will cut the mustard (literally)

A toner may not work very well to remove what is technically brassy tones

She should either wait a few weeks and bleach again but this could really damage the hair

Or go to sallys and get a shade such as rusk 8.01 with the ash tones it will "cool" the shade

I have done this myself. Ended up strawberry blonde like a power puff girl.

I used rusk 6.3g which has given me a nice light golden brown which although not my aim...it isnt orange

Oh dear! I did that the first time I decided to go blonde, bleached it myself at home, such a disaster, I don't think any toner is going to help, besides it wouldn't be long lasting enough. Colour correction at the hairdressers would be the best option, I had a dark red/brown all over colour which made it look better or Another application of bleach to lift it white blonde but again professional help is best.

Not all colour correctors are created equal. I’m a big fan of L’Oréal professional colour corrector. It won’t make it white but it should tone down the yellow

Yes, it doesn’t look terrible. Frankly at 16 you can get away with a lot but think she was just hoping to take it down a notch. Thanks for suggestions

She probably needs to bleach it again slightly lighter (although even the lightest bleached hair will be yellow without a toner) but if she doesn't want to do that then she can get an ashy toner on it. Don't bother with the ones you can get in Boots etc they are shit. The Wella one in T18 seems to be very popular, or I use Loreal dialight - if she has a look online she can see which shade it best, if she wants to counteract a lot of yellow then 9.01 might be good.

And then she will probably need a strong purple shampoo like Fanola No More Yellow on top of all that!
