Rosacea - Finacea / Skinoren....

Hi All,

I’m on the dianette pill for treating hair loss, however I’m finding it’s flaring my rosacea up. I’ve had a rosacea spot on the end of my nose over three weeks and the soolantra doesn’t seem to be having any effect. I’m thinking of trying finacea / skinoren cream, has anyone used these with any success?

Thank you 😊 xx

I’ve used both, but for mild acne.

I can’t see how Finacea would help you, as it made my skin extremely sensitive and red. So if anything, it may make your rosacea worse. Fair enough, I may have had a reaction to it, but I still think it’s a harsher formulation than Skinoren although it has a lower % of azelaic acid

@hastingsmua1 it’s the skinoren I’ve ordered, I seem to remember trying finacea without much effect although I can’t remember it irritating my skin, the soolantra doesn’t seem to be doing anything though x

I must have sensitive skin then😂 but skinoren doesn’t cause me any issues! I didn’t know it could also be used to treat rosacea x

Iv just started using finacea for rosacea but Iv had to put use less and Bon down to every 2nd day because it burns like someone has dunked my face in lava!

Iv no idea if it will help yet though.

Perhaps give the gp a ring and ask for a course of lymecycline just to get it under control again?

I use Skinoren for acne and I’ve never had any issues with it.
